Former Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has signed up to take over as Hollyoaks character Vivien Holden.
The actress, who played Bernice Blackstock in the soap until 2002, will replace ex-EastEnders actress Jacqueline Leonard as the party-mad mum of Danny and Lauren Valentine.
A show insider said: "She’s the sort of mother that every child dreads. Viv still thinks she’s a teenager and dresses accordingly.
"It’ll be fun to see what she gets up to - and who she gets involved with."
