Soap Fan Fiction is now gone.
Sad but true I've reached a decision about the website. I've decided not to upload it to a new destination. In other words the site is no more - it is gone.
I guess I should fill all the people who don't have a clue what I'm talking about in.
Well basically I opened my Soap Fan Fiction website in July 2002 for to put up fanfic stories. At first it was just Emmerdale, but quickly grew to the rest of the UK soaps. I messed around with the US soaps for a while as well, but in the end got rid of that section because of a lack of interest.
I myself went through long periods when the site would barely be updated, for all manner of reasons from ill family members to the usual "lack of time" excuse. In 2004 I was shocked when I logged on to update the site one day, and discovered that Bravenet had deleted it.
The site was gone, and I never got an explanation why. It just vanished, as it was really beginning to pick up viewings wise as well.
So after a while I decided to move to somewhere else, and after a long search decided on freewebpage.org as it seemed to offer a large amount of space and was pretty quick.
But that seems to have been a mistake as earlier this month I discovered the site was gone. Why? I haven't bothered to find out.
In truth it is a blessing, as I really did get sick of maintaining the website. It was difficult, and I never got much feedback for my stories there.
I still have all the stories (30 or so) on my computer though, and aim to slowly post them online. I also want to try and get in contact with any authors of the stories to see if they want to join here.
This news wont affect most of you.
So now the future... Well this basically is it! I hope to try and get as much traffic from the site to these forums and make these forums far busier. They've been doing okay recently (especially the Coronation Street one) so hopefully that will continue to grow.
If you have any questions then feel free to reply, and if not just continue posting some of the best fan fiction around I guess!

So, are you going to post all of stories on line... Now, this is just a question Eithne if someone was to help you with updating /maintaining/ rebuilding the site, would you consider it? Now, I dont mean like just helping say by doing like 50% or more of the work? Because it seems a real shame to just let the site go like that... I mean you could totally change it or whatever and post more stories on it, from say this site... And, add more features to the site, say games, quizzes, spoilers to soaps, etc. I know that it would be a lot of work... But what do you think?
