Part 1
(Scene opens with Dennis lying in bed, with Sharon getting ready next to him)

Dennis – (tired) morning
Sharon – Morning sleepy
Dennis – What time is it?
Sharon – (looks at watch) Half ten
Dennis – Where are you going then (smiles)?
Sharon – Im going to see Chrissie and Sam
Dennis – wh…
Sharon – and… Zoe
Dennis – Why? Sharon we’ve been back two minutes why do you wanna spoil it already?
Sharon – I don’t… I just need some questions answered
Dennis – about what?
Sharon – Dad
Dennis – Shar…
Sharon – (interrupting) No Dennis, something’s not right I can tell. I know Dad and he wouldn’t do just hop off and leave. They’re hiding something and im gonna find out!
Dennis – Just don’t cause any trouble
Sharon – I wont it will just be a nice catch up chat (smug smile)

(They smile and Sharon walks out – We cut to a scene with Dot and Pauline around Pauline’s table where they are nattering and having a cup of tea)

Dot – oh but Pauline Dennis isn’t like Den
Pauline – Oh Dot don’t be silly the men in that family of got some kind of gene that passes down that turns them into cheating lil liars – I just feel sorry for the next woman Den gets eating out his hand and trust me sooner or later Dennis will be just the same
Dot – Dennis has a heart of gold Pauline surely you can see that
Pauline – Ha, heart of Stone more like
Dot – oh Pauline (worried look)
Pauline – That boy will get what’s coming to him!

(We cut over to Sharon just about to enter the Vic, Sam, Zoe and Chrissie are sitting around a table, each clutching a class of wine)

Sharon – (enters) Right girls, whose gonna start?
(The girls look horrified and scared)
Chrissie – Shall we go upstairs and talk?
Sharon – No, any talking can be said right here!
Sam – What do you mean?
Sharon – Where’s Den!?
Chrissie – I told you Sharon he left… with another Woman
Sharon – Another woman?
Chrissie – yes – Sharon please stop asking about it, it’s hard for me to talk about it (beings to cry slightly)
Sharon – See I know my Dad; most people round the Square would hear that story and believe it like the Pope’s a Catholic. But even though my Dad’s a cheat and a liar he’d never just run off – just disappear out of no where.
(Zoe looks like she could confess at any time)
Sharon – Just tell me the truth!
Chrissie – I am!
Sharon – No you’re not Chrissie!
Chrissie – Yes I…
Zoe – (interrupting in a loud voice) No you’re not Chrissie!
(Chrissie and Sam look at Zoe)
Sharon – (Smug) Finally… A bit of honesty from the Virgin Mary herself!
Zoe – She has to know Chrissie
Chrissie – (covering it up) know what?
Sam – Zoe calm down you’re being hysterical
Zoe – No im not! She needs to know about Den
Sharon – What about Den!
Zoe – He’s dead!
(Sharon is lost for words)
Sharon – hes, he’s dead???
Chrissie – He’s with another Woman Zoe what are you talking about!!!
Sam – It was Chrissie… She murdered Den Sharon
Sharon – Sam, Zoe can you leave me and Chrissie alone for a bit – We need to do some talking
Sam – of course Sharon
(Sam and Zoe leave, Zoe is in tears, Chrissie looks horrified. Sharon slowly walks over to Chrissie, before raising her hand and violently slapping Chrissie across the face and taking a seat)

Sharon – Right – Where were we?

Chrissie – Sharon look…
Sharon – I don’t wanna hear the lies Chrissie! I wanna hear the truth! (Grabs her hair)
Chrissie – (in pain) Alright Sharon, then hear me out. Yeah Den’s dead
Sharon – I know that much Chrissie!
Chrissie – But it wasn’t me!
Sharon – Oh so Sam and Zoe lied to me did they? Spare me this rubbish Chrissie and tell me why you did it
Chrissie – Sharon I am begging you please believe me it wasn’t me!
Sharon – Oh who was it then eh? Pat? Dot? Pauline? Eh come on Chrissie im desperate to hear your story!
Chrissie – You believe them don’t ya?
Sharon – Well…
Chrissie – You’re gonna believe them two over me!
Sharon – wha…
Chrissie – You believe Sam Mitchell, one of your sworn enemies, and Zoe Slater, the one who lied about a pregnancy and stole your boyfriend from you, over me? Well Sharon you really know how to kick a girl when she’s down – Sharon don’t you see it, they’ve got it all planned out to send me down for it! Please Sharon you’ve gotta believe me!
Sharon – So who was it?
Chrissie – Zoe
Sharon – Zoe?
Chrissie – Me and Den were rowing, she didn’t mean to but, things between me and Den got violent he hit my head on the fruit machine, next thing I know Den’s on the floor and Zoe’s standing with a doorstop over his body.
Sharon – Zoe killed Den?
Chrissie – I know it’s a lot to take in but…
Sharon – Nobody kills my dad and gets away with it Chrissie
Chrissie – look now calm down Sharon and we can work something out
Sharon – oh like Zoe did!
Chrissie – She didn’t mean to kill him
Sharon – I might not mean to kill her but you know what, I might just do so
Chrissie – are you saying you’re going to murder Zoe?
Sharon – An Eye for an Eye – A Tooth for a Tooth – aint that what they say
Chrissie – but …
Sharon – I’m sorry Chrissie – but one way or another Zoe’s going down – and im taking Sam with her … and Nothing’s gonna stop me!
