Who would you get rid of??

If you were put in charge of Corrie,and had to cut it back to 3 episodes per week,which characters would you axe..??

here are mine.....(and this is no reflection on the actors,its the fact that the writers make them pointless)

1. Diggory Compton (Gets on my nerves)
2. Clare Peacock (Silly storylines,she is supposed to be a nanny)
3. Ashley Peacock (I used to like him,but his voice is getting squeakier and his stroylines are getting sillier)
4. Tracy Barlow (overkill)
5. The factory 'twins' (pointless & stupid)
6. Keith Appleyard (Why axe Angela just to bring him in ..pointless)
7. Craig Harris (pointless since his family were axed,why would he stay in that house that brought him so much misery)
8. Charlie Stubbs ( I could scream everytime I see him look shifty over Shelleys shoulder)
9. Les battersby (I just find him irritating,ok at comedy..no good at drama)
10. Steve McDonald (Overkill,don't axe him completely,but give him a few months off to give us all a rest from his eyebrows)
11.Adam Barlow..(he was aborted in 1986!!..and don't tell me he wasn't)

i would say Danny,Frankie and Jamie Baldwin,because in reality they shouldn't exist either..but i like the Baldwins and once they have been in you can't erase them as if they never happenend

Kate Ford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's so awful she should never have been hired. But, since Daran did, should have been shown the door after her initial 3 month contract.

1. Adam Barlow - cant act and the character should exist anyway.

2. Diggory Compton - annoying in every way

6. Shelly

7. Charlie

8. Ashley - boring

9 Claire - boring

10. Keith - pointless

8) Adam Barlow - Sam Robertson is a terrible actor - send him back to Scotland out of the way.

9) Scooter - the most boring character at this moment in time - send him off packing to wherever he came from.

10) Keith Appleyard and Craig Harris - can't see the point of bringing him in after axing Angela and although Craig is the only member of the Nelson or Harris family that I did like he will be lost without his mother, father and sister - both go back to Sheffield.

11) Dev Alahan - Jimi Harkishin is a terrible actor and Dev isn't exactly the best of characters is he - killed in a car accident.

12) Ashley and Claire Peacock - boring characters and stupid storylines - move away somewhere and with baby Joshua in toe they will need a bigger house eventually.

13) Nathan Harding - pointless character - send him off packing back to where he came from.


Besides axing the following characters above, I would also axe the following other characters as well but I would wipe these lot out all in one go in an explosion or something - see below:

14) Les and Janice Battersby - crap actor and crap actress and their characters are annoying.

15) Cilla Brown - can't stand the woman.

16) Cilla's mate in the chip shop - can't stand the woman.

17) Fiz Brown - irritating character.

18) Kirk Sutherland - not funny at all.

19) Maria Sutherland - Samia Ghadie can't act her way out of a paper bag and all she is in the programme for is to look bloody nice.

20) Jessie and Joanne (The Factory Twins) - pathetic, pointless and stupid characters.

21) Kelly Crabtree - hyped up to be the new Karen McDonald type character but not a patch and I was never a fan of Karen McDonald anyway.

22) Penny King - Pauline Fleming is a terrible actress. Mike would be better off on his own again.

23) Roy and Hayley Cropper - pathetic characters and bore the bloody pants off me and they always have done. No disrespects to David Neilson though who is a fine actor its just he needs a better role than Roy.

24) I would also axe Chesney Brown as well and I hate myself for saying this because he is the only person out of the Battersby/Brown clan that I do like. I am very fond of him, he is a great character but he would be lost without everyone else around once they had all being killed off. I wouldn't kill Chesney off though. I would put him in foster care with a family who would take care of him properly.

Thank god Warren Baldwin has being axed and Candice Stowe is leaving. Both Danny Young and Nikki Sanderson can't act their way out of a paper bag and neither could Adam Rickett.

As for the Nelson's or Harris's whatever you want to call them, I never liked Tommy at all and as for Angela and Katy or should I say Kathryn Hunt and Lucy Jo Hudson, both of these two overacted after Tommy died but I am glad they are all gone altogether. As I have already said Craig is the only one I liked out of this family.

As for bringing certain characters back, my choices would be - Hilda Ogden, Bet Lynch, Harry Flagg and Chris Collins.

Daran Little - for being so up himself and reusing old scripts and thinking we won't notice. Obsession with drunken woman, obsession with Tracy Barlow. I'm only relieved Todd has gone for no other reason than Little's obsession with him.

The rest of the writers EXCEPT John Stevenson and David Lane. Peter Mills and Whalley might consider keeping.

Casting directors

Penny King. Is she a pointless character or is it just bad acting? Whichever she doesn't work.

Kate Ford but keep Tracy. Send Tracy to jail for crimes against anything you like and bring her back with a new head and more mature in a couple of years.

Kelly Crabtree - bsically because the actress is dreadful and just makes the character a nonsense.

Sarah Platt - Send her on a holiday to see Uncle Stephen in Canada and let the writers forget to bring her back. This character is so past its sell by date. She is out and out trollop, proves time and again how stupid and selfish she is and has very few remaining redeeming qualities. She stumbles from one disaster to another and then expects everyone else to pick up the pieces. We have seen it too often and it is getting really really boring. Also the actress Tina O'Brien really is a disgrace. How can she be held up as a role model to the young when she brags about 24-36 hour drunken binges and drinking so much that the smell of alcohol leaks through the paws of her skin. Yuk yuk yuk.

Hayley - she has had her story and she now just goes round in circles. Like Sarah it has become very boring. Added to which the actress has ruined it a bit for herself by proving she should not be a spokeswoman for Coronation Street after getting really drunk at the Soap awards in 2004 and just mouthed off to all and sundry to the poiint most of it ended up on the cutting room floor before the final programme broadcast.

Claire Peacock. Deadly dull character and not a particularly good actress.

Frankie Baldwin - good actress but badly written character to the point even the actress often seems bored of her own part. Frankie has yet to be given her own story and has to grovel for crumbs off of other characters.

Jamie - We don't quite know why however the character just doesn't seem to have much about him. To be truthful Danny didn't need and shouldn't of come with a ready made family. He should of arrived single as a womaniser leaving a girlfriend behind like his Uncle, oops sorry, father, Mike did before him. We should add Danny is great.

We don't want rid of Shelley however she has been over-used for two years now. First with the never ending Peter Barlow story that we were only spared further bordom from by the depature of the actor. And now this Charlie story is being dragged out. Yes in real life it could go on for years however it doesn't make interesting entertainment going on for years on television.

Sunita - Maya should come back and finish the job.

Fred - on the danger list. They sometimes take him to far these days.

That will for now but no doubt in 3 months time we could double the list.

The factory twins- I haven't even seen them on the screens yet, but don't really see any point having them. Silly.

Keith & Craig-Craig really should have left when the rest of the family did.

Kelly Crabtree-haven't seen much of her, but don't like her.

I haven't seen Diggory or Nathan yet, so in a few months they could be on my list as well.

01) Diggory Compton - Nothing but a fifth rate Fred Eliott clone, but he doesn't have John Savident's acting skill & (as yet) the character has no emotional depth. The viewers don't care about him so get rid now.

02) Joanne & Jessie - The twins are tedious to the extreme. Neither of them are particularly good actresses & the "twin joke" had run out of steam by the end of their first week in the show.

03) Kelly - What's she for? I can't say I feel any differently about her now that I did when she first joined the show. At least Sonia had a bit of oomph about her. Kelly is a crap replacement & should be axed.

04) Tracy - the character has been completely ruined by Kate Ford's acting (or lack of it). She has got away with the most horrid behaviour for far too long. Send her away somewhere & bring her back with a new head in a couple of years time.

05) Shelley - bored, bored, bored & this tedious Charlie & Shelley storyline now. All it has served is to show the limits of Sally Lindsay's acting skills. She's not a bad actress but she can't carry heavy drama off to the extent that someone like Suranne Jones (Karen) or Jacqueline Chadwick (Linda) could.

Personally I think she's completly unconvining in everything she does. She certianly can't handle any sort of dramatic scene & make you feel as though she's experiencing any sort of emotion whatsoever. She can't cry convicingly either. She might get away with such crap acting in an American soap but her deficiencies are highlighted even more when she's acting opposite Anne, Bill & Maggie.

LOL! I keep telling you, Jezziekins. When you get older you'll become a grumpy old man like I've become a grumpy old woman. When we're young, we cna put up with crap acting, mainly because we don't notice since we're not more worldly-wise (look at Pat Phoenix). Then we learn and experience more so can't stand it. I'm looking forward to your thoughts about her 10 or 20 years from now.
