Bates of course! I am Rita Littlewood after all. Only one Harry. Seriously, Harry the cleaner who went off in his camper van because they like axing normal characters. Patsy

Harry Flagg!! Loved him I did. There was no need of it at all for him to leave. To my mind he was the 'Jerry Booth' of characters......not the most exciting of characters, no explosive plots, but he was solid and dependable and I loved him a lot. Corrie made a huge mistake in letting him go. Ditto with Roy Evans from Corrie.

Well id hardly say Harry the cleaner will be remembered in years to come, not compaired to some others. I doubt many of this lot will be remembered - possibly Michelle, Liam, Carla will be and the ones who have been there 20 years +.
Ah but Rita Littlewood, Harry Bates was one you didnt manage to wed! You were just pretending you naughty girl!

Don't want triangles, explosions, sensationalism, baddies. It all gets the same and blends into one. But they reckon there's nowhere for them to go or some other lame crap when they axe them. Harry could have still been there. I remember the interview with Iain whatsit where he said he was glad Harry had been introduced gradually then viewers wouldn't get fed up with him. Not long after that he was axed. Instead they rammed KF, the Pratts etc down people's throats constantly while ignoring the main core of characters. Crying shame. Patsy

You were just pretending you naughty girl! I very much doubt that too. For one thing they never stay long enough to make an impact. For another there's too many eps so they can't be developed properly. They're one-dimensional. Deiderick Santer said on This Morning yesterday a lot of the EE writers are freelance and work at home. I wonder if it's the same at Corrie, hence the lack of consistency these days and repetitiveness. Harry Bates had no cash so course I wouldn't wed him! I just stayed with him letting me beat me black and blue till I got a better offer. Patsy

I'm reviving this and hoping to get back to the point - Eileen has the best throw-aways ever!!!!!! I love her character - wish she'd been my mother - her kids love her and always stay in contact with her.
There's always room at her house for someone who needs it - no matter how many are already living there - I have to admit I do wonder how many bedrooms or beds there are at her place ... but I'd still prefer to wind up on her doorstep than some of the ones I can think of.
