Why can`t the writers and producers see Sue Cleaver for what she really is.... as a real treasure? I`ve liked her from day one and she just gets better and better as a Eileen. There really is no justice in the world if she doesn`t pick up a best actress awad this year

Totally agree - she's woefully underused. Eileen will always be in my Top 10 of all-time favourite 'real' Corrie characters.

Yeah, she's great. There was another earlier thread in her honour a while back, but I can't find it now.

She doesn't stand a chance at winning an award these days with kids voting for who they fancy. Real talent gets ignored plus the bosses always tend to put the same ruddy names forward even if they haven't done anything or are complete crap.

its time Eileen got a man in her life.......Harry Flagg would have been ideal

I`ve always maintained that too Nick. Great minds think alike. I loved Harry Flagg from his very first day and saw masses of potential for both him and Eileen as a couple...as well as seperate characters. It really ticks me off big time when nowhere near as good characters like Sean for example get much more screen time than Eileen who deserves so much more.

Yeah but they couldn't be bothered just having a nice, normal character so axed him.

There has been far too much time spent on Sean,Steve,Sarah Louise,David,Tracey,Cilla,Jamie
while others like Eileen,Audrey,Norris,Kirk,Kevin and Ken never seem to have much to do apart from hang on other peoples storylines

Who decides the characters to be nominated? Eileen has been nominated quite a few times in the past, yet has failed to win. What a victory it will be if she wins this year. It would be so well deserved

Eileen is one of my favourite Corrie characters, I don't watch Corrie that regularly but when she is in it, I do like her performances and her no nonsense attitude.

Its nice that Eileen is getting a storyline at last with baby Holly. She was even on the cover of Whats on TV this week with Jason and Holly!

Bumping this to the top... wow its been nearly a year since Jez`s last post lol A year later and a year not so wiser for the Corrie writers/producers. Looking back, they were quite right in not pairing Eileen with Jerry. So what`s next for Eileen? Come on writers start writing some stuff for Eileen instead the over rated Miss Hell...er...Michelle

Telling Steve she'll man the switch on her day off as long as he buys her loads of cream buns? Major storyline there. Last all of....oooh, a minute.

Eileen could do with a love interest. Please bring back Jim McDonald - the last time he was in t`street I definately saw a spark of something there between them. And then writers ruined it by turning Jim into a macho man and punching Vernon.
