Once again it seems I missed a vital episode (last Saturday 12th Nov).

Could some kind person explain why Abs is being so reluctant to own up to being a witness when Guppy was assaulted. It was painfully obvious in last night's ep that he knew all about it, but won't own up to the police (or Guppy).

Abbs saw it alright... But he was too busy rushing off to see if his girlfriend ( Nina) wasn't having a lesbian affair with Kelsey.... I'm slowly going off Abbs as he seems to be more and more selfish as the weeks go on.... How can you stand by when you see someone being beaten up... Shame on you Abbs!

I sort of understand. Abs really wanted to rush off and didn't want to become involved in dealing with the assault (though I don't think he knew it was Guppy - probably thought it was some dispute where whoever was getting assaulted deserved it like most fights outside A&E). And then he was embarrassed that he hadn't done anything.

But why not admit to seeing them all in the carpark or something? That wouldn't be a lie and would at least place them at the scene if they were denying they were there. There must be some evidence of a fight on them (damaged knuckles or something) and if they can be placed at the scene and as Guppy has named them they'd stand a better chance of being convicted. Why deny everything? Is Abs supposed to be very thick? As well as self-centred? The Old Abs would not have rushed off to check on his girlfriend rather than helping someone being assaulted. New writer perhaps?

Even if he didn't know it was Guppy why say he didn't know anything about it? It would'nt have hurt him to say he saw it... The old Abs would have so why not now? I think he knew he'd done wrong by not doing anything about it so thought he'd keep out of it in order not to look bad... I hope he owns up because if not they will come back and do it again.... They will think they can do anything and get away with it....

I agree and it says alot to say he is meant to be a physchiatrist. Whether it was Guppy or not, he should have got involved.

Yes I think it will too sootycat.... I hope they get the thugs that did it and Abs owns up to seeing them!
