From Digital Spy Five's flagship soap, Family Affairs, is to lose its longest serving actor in a dramatic storyline to be screened later this year. David Easter, who plays bad boy Pete Callan, will finally get his comeuppance when twisted Trish Wallace, armed with a gun, storms the Black Swan pub demanding their baby. A spokesperson told DS: “There are only so many enemies a soap baddie can make before their past catches up with them. "The showdown will witness the end of Pete Callan’s time in Charnham, but whether he leaves The Black Swan for the final time in handcuffs or a body bag is yet to be decided.” Viewers should expect to see these explosive scenes on screen in September. I'm sorry he is going, he's been a great character.

No they dont do they. Getting rid of such a popular character is a bad move.
David Easter was shortlisted for Best Villan at the soapies a few years back, and that was a public vote which shows he is popular.
