I had to wait for Channel 5 to catch up with Meridian so I could see the rest.

Yeah Meridian never showed the last 100 or so episodes (same as Ulster and Carlton London never did). Very bad of them to drop it when it was such a popular series.

It was crap them doing that and making people think it was coming back.

There was talk once of there being an 'Aussie Gold' channel, and it was going to be re-run there. But that never came to anything.
Shame really, it would have been good to see all the old Aussie stuff like Sons and Daughters and The Young Doctors etc again.

I remember that. Pity it was just talk.

That's weird haven't given PCBH a thought in years but two or 3 days ago I was going through boxes of my belongings my grandmother had been storing and out fell a book on Prisoner.
My history was very chequered. I was at college when I first got into it in 1988 in the central region. Central treated it very well and showed it 3 times a week and rarely cancelled it, they even used to have 8 day marathans. By the end of 1991 they had shown the lot. Trouble was whenever I went home, they had TVS/Meredian and Thames. Both of which were years behind and cancelled it at a drop of a hat and when I went back to the central area they would of moved on weeks/months literally.
Then in the fall 1991 until 1994 I was living for the most part in Northampton and we got Central and Anglia. So I got to see the last few on Central and catch up on all the gaps on Anglia. Anglia treated Prisoner relatively well too. When I moved out of that area a friend taped the final lot for me and I'm guessing Anglia finished up about 1995. By the time it had finished on Anglia to be honest I'd had enough and moved on to other things. The last 100 episodes were dreadful IMHO.
That's one thing I don't miss about all the regions is that they could be years behind or a head on programmes. Central had already begun re-airing it while many regions were still showing the first 2 or 3 years.
