I started this because I saw Colette Mann today on a DVD I bought for my mum and boy does she look ancient! I can't believe she's 55! You can still tell it's her but she looks old.

So would I. Meridian never even finished it. I had to tape it from five and then I was away in Coventry when they showed the last ep so I had an even longer wait. LOL!

I saw it all the way through twice. Once on Central and the second time on HTV.
And I would still love to see it again.i

From what I read Meridian, London and Ulster all took it off around 100 episodes before the end. All the others showed it though and Central even started to repeat it but gave up after a while.

Books always mention the UK had it from 1989. But TVS had it in 1986!

our`s was border tv and took it off after 100 episode`s why I don`t know:( all I know it is a badly missed programme here I had watched it from the beginning. they took the high road off at the same time so unfair .

I believe Yorkshire were the first to start showing it back in 1984 but only showed 1 episode a week so took until 1997 to get to the end. Central were the first to get to the end in December 1991 but they showed it 3 times a week.
Granada got to the end in 1994/5 and HTV in 1996.
I believe the reason Border skipped episodes was because they merged with Granada and started showing their episodes which were several years ahead. A simular thing happened when Tyne Tees and Yorkshire merged.

oh great they merged with Granada but didn`t tell the viewer`s , that was nice of them:( I knew it was a long time ago but 1994/95 (help I can feel my gray hair`s lol)even so I wish they`ed repeat it again but no they repeat everything else instead.

I thought Border were still separate like Ulster, STV/Grampian and Channel. When did they take over?
Well the voiceover on Meridian said 'leave the ladies there for the time being'. They're still in limbo. LOL! There's a DVD, isn't there, featuring some eps?

Border were owned by Granada from 1993 onwards I think, but im not sure. All I know is Border skipped loads of Prisoner to join up with Granada's episodes.
LOL! Do you know what the last episode Meridian showed was? I know ITV London axed it just before the big 600th episode.

they skipped that many episode`s to catch up, it didn`t make sense after that . border must have merged with a lot after that. I think. where can I get that dvd? I might be able to catch up with prisioner cell block h again . when it got axed in cumbria old lizzie had just died (way behind I know )

I just got the Best of Prisoner on DVD. Id forgotten how good the Ballinger seige where top dog Myra Desmond was shot dead. I know most people seem to prefer the earlier episodes but I prefer the later ones with Myra Desmond and then Rita Connors as top dog. I also love Lou Kelly, and Lexie and Julie (who is now Susan Kinski in Neighbours of course!)

Reb Keane is now Lyn Scully and her mum was Madge Bishop. There's a box coming out apparently featuring all the eps for over £500! Patsy

There are 692 episodes so I doubt it.

How many discs will there be for 692 episodes I wonder.

I dread to think. If 4 per disc maybe 173. If they released all existing eps of Crossroads I'd pay the money. I see Within These Walls series 1 is on DVD, which inspired PCBH. Patsy

Why can't they do us all a favour and repeat it.
I have still got the last 20 episodes on video, that I recorded years back when it was on Central.

Maybe 8 per disc so it wouldnt be so many! lol
Blimey that is a long time Sooty, Central were the first to finish in 1991! HTV didnt finish until 1996, and several regions never got to the end.

I watched it on both Central and HTV. (We live in an area that can pick up both. )
This was before we got Sky. We have a Central and an HTV aerial.
