I agree about Tracey's trial and Jason & Sarah's wedding being good in Corrie, not so sure about Hayley's long lost son though.
Looking back, I do think the Emmerdale episode with Len's death and Carl's reveal as the killer was good. It had a good mix of action and drama, even if the climax took ages to get to.

When I think back to the start of 2007 to the end of 2007, I never would have imagined I`d ever watch EE again. But lately it has me gripped. The biggest let down for me this year has been Emmerdale. For some strange reason I feel cheated as a viewer because it has become so dire. The writers seems to be clutching at so many straws lately, they probably need Germalene on their hands from all those scratches. Thank God for Val, Betty and Edna - 3 of my fave characters.

Hollyoaks has been good this year too. I don`t have any others years of HO to compare it with as it`s only been this year I`ve been watching it. We are about 9 months behind the UK in episodes so am watching the March eppies right now. Not as giripping as it once was, but things do improve according the spoilers I`ve read.

Definitely Emmerdale. It's sad how fast it became so dreadful. I think the Tom King thing was the beginning. It just went on and on and on and nothing happened. How many actually cared when it was revealed Carl did it?

I was past caring at this stage - it just dragged on too long. I think that long storyline was the start of the abcess that needed to be lanced - but it didn`t. Apologies to those who were eating then.

Definitely Emmerdale. It's sad how fast it became so dreadful. I think the Tom King thing was the beginning. It just went on and on and on and nothing happened. How many actually cared when it was revealed Carl did it? I'd agree with that. The Tom King storyline could have been good if it had been done properly, with plenty of twists and turns and then being allowed to fade into the background for a while - until it suddenly and unexpectantly came to the fore again. Instead it all happened the first month or so and then was forgotten about until the big reveal got nearer. In comparison the Stacey and Max (or Mux!) story on EE was a long running one that I'll admit I had serious reservations about to begin with. And yes there were bits I hated, but when it actually came to the wedding it was very well done and then the big reveal on Christmas Day was also exceptional and one of the best episodes of any soap all year. Corrie on Christmas Day was bland, and better than other years but still not great. The Rosie and John story had only been going on for around 6 weeks or so, meaning that the reveal wasn't really something we were desperate for. A New Years Resolution for ITV - stop scheduling Emmerdale against Eastenders. When EE was crap it made sense to do it as it showed how bad EE had become and was the wake up call the show needed. Now that call has been recieved and has turned a corner, its stupid to continue these clashes.

Interesting. I thought this years Christmas Corrie wasnt as good as last years and 2005's but better than 2004 which was too much with the Tracy/Karen fight. This years was ok (it had its good moment, see my comments in the Corrie thread) but it could have been better.
