I was nearly falling asleep during this. Why didn't the stupid monster just smash down the door to Mickey's flat when they did in Downing Street? After seeing RTD on BBC3 (I could kill them for starting early - I just managed to get the bloody tape in!) spouting about often cliffhangers aren't needed and having to wait and see if he's right, blah, blah, I hope in the next series he takes a back seat and lets others get on with it, including introducing cliffhangers and dropping the 'Next time' bit. Even The Web Planet or Ghost Light, as bad as they are, are far superior to this over-padded two-parter. And why different ep titles? I'm really not liking the way RTD is changing the series to fit his ideas rather than go by what worked in the past.
Okay, who else noticed the Doctor's stuff to Rose about the nebula was very similar to the 3rd Doctor tempting Sarah with Florana? It's one thing for him to change stuff to suit his ego but another when he keeps nicking stuff from the past he wants to forget about. He should be called Carlton, since that's what they did with Crossroads.

Well as i wasn't a big fan of part one, i did find this marginiarily better. Still didn't like the aliens or their costumes though which stopped it being so great (meh - i'm just fickle)
Liked the bit with the boy and graffitiing the Tarsdis. But at least it's over and forgotten, i'll be looking forward to next weeks much more, albeit heavy reservations with Bruno Langley.

The Daleks are my favourite monsters and I'm REALLY hoping this won't be a huge disappointment. Why such a big deal about them going upstairs? They managed it on the Mary Celeste in The Chase (1965) and Rememberance of the Daleks (1988). I hope we're not going to get a carbon copy of Sylvester's expression when the Dalek hovered up after him in this one with CE, as though it was all new. Davros also managed it in Revelation of the Daleks. Seeing Bruno in something else might be interesting. He might be able to act!
Back to tonight's. We really didn't need the alien going, "Oh, boll..." as the missile struck. I bet that'll get loads of complaints. I wasn't sure if I heard correctly but they showed it again in Dr Who Confidential. RTD has been a good writer as far as I'm concerned except on this. Unlike the other 3, he's never written for DW before except a Virgin New Adventure and those who read them know how way off track they went. He's never written any Big Finish audios unlike the others. So basically in season 28 (series 2 to the unenlightened) he shouldn't write as much as he has this time. Bring in other writers or boost what Rob Shearman, Mark Gatiss and Paul Cornell have to do. Personally I think Terrance Dicks is overhyped because he was only ever an average writer, but I'd even settle for him! And we need the Brig! Bring the Brig in season 28!!!!!!

I loved the comment about weapons of mass destruction, and only having 45 seconds to save the world Now, where have I heard something like that before . ;D

Yes. It was vaguely familiar.... I think they could have done with dropping BBC News too. They could have pretend news channels and not morons like Andrew Marr like they used to. Patsy
