Well, it started off okay but then went ridiculous. Touches of Vengeance of Varos and Evil of the Daleks here tonight. I read Rob Shearman earlier in the week banging on about how we'd see it go upstairs and the inside for the first time etc but we've had all that already! Again the music overwhelmed and drowned out dialogue in places. I still find t hard to believe *all* the Time Lords bar the Doctor are dead when there's so many renegades out there like the Master, Rani, Monk.
Better than last week and the week before but still not a patch on the previous ones.
I was glad for once BBC3 gave me time to sort the tape out for a change instead of quick change over and on.

Oh yeah and another gripe or two - the sound effects when it moved anything and wasting precious exterminating time swivelling it's mid-section, base and top when it could just turn like the old days.
And why did that Yank with the bad accent have a Revenge Cyberman head?

All in all it was good....I agree about the Time Lords being dead..what about Romana..??...I actually felt sorry for the Dalek at one point and nearly filled up..I was dissapointed there was only 1 Dalek..And Bruno Langley was..well a posh Todd with the odd slip into his Manchester accent..and The background music is too loud

Great to see the Dalek back ( and very smart it looked too )
I hope they find some way of bringing it back to life, I'd hate to think that was the last we will ever see of it.
I thought Bruno was good, be nice if he could stick around for a bit, like an extra companion.
I agree about the background music being too loud ( but that seems to be a problem with most tv programme these days )

I agree about Bruno..I always preferred the series when the Doctor had more than one companion

It certainly worked with 3 when there was Ian, Barbara and Susan, then Ian, Barbara and Vicki. Didn't in Davison's time. Maybe that was the writing. I know Bruno's in the next one but by all accounts completely different in character to Dalek. Don't you think that's daft? Shouldn't writers collaborate? Though Rob Shearman said RTD invented Adam and let him use him. Still should be collaboration though.
Well the Daleks will be back and it might be the regeneration story too.

Personally i loved it and thought it was the best episode yet, i have a few niggles too, but i'll cover the postives first. Firstly from the opening scene where the dalek repeated "doctor" and the Doctor goes "impossible.." made me jump up and down excitedly (Despite seeing it in trailers several times). The whole first sheen with the doctor and the Dalek was great in my opinion. I thought the daleks look very rustic now, although at least they haven't done away or modinised the sink plunger!! I don't think they made too much of the flying, it would've been shocking tpo Rose, Adam and the woman with the gun yes but not the doctor, who has of course seen it before from what i've read over various sites. Bruno was okay, i think the slip was at the begging, and he was posh for the rest of the episode, but it inmpressed me, he wasn't great, but to be fair he was okay. If they've got this futuristic museum why didn't the guards & securtiy have more sophisticated weapons instead of just those in the vault/adam's room/the catalogue or generally? Dissapointed to see regular bullet firing weapons. Also they could've done without the matrix stopping bullets effect, sorry, it may have impressed some but there was really no need, it just felt like yet another cash-in to the original, another doing a copy-cat effect. I also felt it got a tiny bit too moral when the dalek was open and changing inside (ie getting thoughts, feelings etc) but i did like the fact it was changing and becoming something new, and i too felt sorry for the dalek. Overall i think there was some great exchanges between the doctor and the dalek, but at the end 9apart from being very hyper about daleks) i just wanted, more! Daleks that is! More daleks, more, more more i tell thy! ahem. I still think it was the best so far, best written, some good action and dialogue, and Eccelston wasn't going aroung grinning like a bafoon..

He did when he had that alien weapon in his hand. But he was better.
Had forgotten about that matrix massacre. That was just daft. My dad said said how could they die when they were wearing rubber boots. I think it should have been set further in the future. 2012 is not far enough. Also that bluetooth stuff is ridiculous though I did like that woman getting rid of Van Pillock at the end with a taste of his own medicine. I noticed that about Bruno's accent. At least he wasnt blushing as much as he had in Corrie. Agree about the moral bit. Going like US shows which always put me off.

I really, really liked it. It was definitley a favourite - just as good as the third episode I thought.
Sure there may have been a few mistakes, but every TV show has them. Anyway:
I liked the way it all kicked off. The look on the Doctor's face when the Dalek spoke was brilliant. Some of the early parts were bad though, but I liked them anyway.
Bruno fitted in well. In his interview on Teletext a few weeks ago he said that he was only due to be in two episodes this series, but he might be in more in the next one.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Dr and his two companions again next week.
The Dalek story did seem a little drawn out towards the end and I do agree that 2012 is too close for it to be set in. But I suppose next weeks episode is going to be set in the future as well - and also they had some witty jokes (the bit about broadband).
There was a little too much emotion, but it was still a really, really good episode filled with plenty of action.

My friend Paul went to get the writer's autographs at Stockon (think one was Rob Shearman but I can't remember) just to find out how many eps Bruno was in but they wouldn't say. He was not amused! LOL!
I hope for better with the return of the Daleks though. Ian Hyland in the Mirror today loved the first 30 mins but hated the rest.

The Mirror - meh a rag of a newspaper! If you can call it that. But his thoughts are valid (It's the paper i'm saying meh to not the writer!) He did when he had that alien weapon in his hand. But he was better. Patsy I was talking about the guards and security thoug. Alright they wouldn't have the nice blaster like the Doctor, but you think they'd have better weapons in case of an emergency! It's just a small niggle though.

My real niggle was having a Dalek that developed "feelings" Thats on a par with having a Great White as a pet fish. A Dalek is a killing machine, it would not be kind, and spare people. When (If) it comes back, please lets have it vicious and murderous again. One thing I did like was the new word it came out with, E-l e-v-a-t-e. ;D ;D

Agree Peter about those weapons. Maybe that's a problem of setting it a mere 7 years ahead. Would have been more interesting if the Dalek crashlanded in the 12th century or something. LOL!
Sooty, I still think "EL-E-VATE" was daft. Had more effect really in Remembrance of the Daleks when they first went upstairs without that. None of that CGI nonsense either. Just imagination. And what happened to the bobby green Dal/Kaled inside? Some moron on BBC3 said about only seeing a claw in the past. Is he meant to be a fan?? Can't remember who he is but he was on that Britian's Most Watched TV Programmes last night spouting too. Yes about the 'human feelings', which is why I said it was like Evil of the Daleks where they played trains and stuff but Evil was better even on audio! They never killed themselves then. So that was daft too. Course, as time is relative (as the Doctor has always said), he can go back in time to fight the metal meanies anytime he feels like it. I'm looking forward to their return and hope it's better. I'm not sure Terry Nation would have approved of all that in Saturday's since he was furious about them blowing up Skaro.

Old fan or not (not in my case!), I to be honest, had seen old daleks insides and was half expecting the green alien too when it opened, not a squid. Oh well.

When the claw suddenly came out of the 'dead' Dalek in Remembrance and grabbed Rachel round the throat was unexpected. A squid is a good description of the latest version, Peter. I knew it reminded me of something.
