Doctor Who has been voted the most popular cult TV show.
The Time Lord topped a poll of weird and wonderful programmes stretching back more than 30 years.
The hit knocked American sci-fi series Star Trek from the number one spot in the poll, conducted by website Cult TV - a position the US show had held since the first survey was carried out in 1994.
In third place was demon slaying teenager Buffy and the spin-off series Angel.
Dr Who returned to British screens earlier this year with actor Christopher Eccleston playing the lead role and 19-year-old former pop princess Billie Piper as his sidekick Rose Tyler.
The new doctor: David Tennant The BBC has since commissioned two more series of Dr Who after it trashed ITV in the ratings.

Not surprising. I mean, ST's on all the time so it was obvious DR who wouldn't be top until it came back. Good placing for B7 though and The Prisoner. But I wouldn't put The Avengers in the same category as those type of programmes.
