I think David Tennant will make an excellent Doctor...my only quibble is....get away from earth ...leave jacky and Mickey....

I wasn't keen on this at all. Too many elements from Spearhead From Space and Castrovalva. I'd thought it would be like Castrovalva all along with him being out of it half the ep. But the 'companions' carrying him was just like Tegan, Nyssa and Adric when he was him his mini Zero Room. Now I've had a few drinks but that line about Earth drawing attention to itself with satellites and stuff I'm sure the Brig said to Liz Shaw in Spearhead. Is my pissed brain remembering the wrong person and story?
I also don't like this guff about the Doctor picking up Rose's accent after being around her so long. Right, then the 2nd Doctor would have sounded like Ben, the 3rd Jamie, the 6th Tegan and the 8th Ace!
The spoilers at the end ruined it a bit. However, I did have a little smile when I saw K9 - yay!!!!! Lovely to see him in all his crappy glory. I was really pleased the proposed K9 new series a few years ago never happened. The redesigned K9 was awful.

Interesting it turns out the CiN was separate after all!
I'll have a K9-fest before School Reunion next year. Well, John Leeson not David Brierley! Well, also not K9 and Company because that is just dire. Not that keen on SJS so won't bother there. Would prefer Leela seeing as K9's in it. I see they had UNIT again in tonight's but still no Brig!!!!! I'm beginning to think RTD hates the Brig as much as Gallifrey.
Anyone seen Downtime? The book is better than the video. I was quite disappointed watching the video SJS and Victoria never discussed the Doctor.

Just one thing puzzles me about the Xmas story...why would a huge alien craft like that send out 5 santa's and a spinning tree after Rose and her mum...after all the aliens didn't know who the Doctor was..it dosen't make sense??..unless I misssed something

Nope. One of RTD's massive gaping holes in the plot that's left unexplained. One reason I prefer t he old series. At least we had an idea what the hell was going on.

Well, what a load of rubbish.
Far too much Jackie & Mickey which is never a good thing. Dr. Who is sci-fi not a bloody soap & the sooner these two characters get dumped the better, although with RTD in charge I fear that will be a long time in coming.
It was just all very sloppy. I could sort of forgive the use of the internet in "Rose" as a device for Rose to find out about the Doc, but here we had Mickey logging on & seeing that the military were tracking the saucer. Completely pathetic. If he was such a good hacker he'd either be working for the government or they'd have jailed him by now for hacking into restricted systems.
Didn't like Penelope Wilton's "Harriet Jones, Prime Minister" at all either. It was perfect for her character when she was a back bench MP as "Harriet Jones, MP, Flydale North" is the sort of thing you could imagine her saying, but "Harriet Jones, Prime Minister" was just pathetic & totally unrealistic.
The group hug with Doc, Rose, Mickey & Jackie was also straying a bit too close to US TV / Soap territory for my liking.
RTD really must do better.

Fat chance! He's proved in numerous interviews in the press and DWM what an arrogant twat he is.

I still cannot understand why he has to have that awful fake accent. What is wrong with his lovely Scottish one.

Maybe they wouldn't sell it abroad if he didn't speak with an English one. Though McCoy's eps had no trouble.
