Oh purlease! This is getting further and further away from what Doctor Who was that made it so great. I saw parts of past stories in this episode.
Dalek Invasion of Earth - Robomen, even down to faking it to infiltrate like the rebels did at the heliport to attack the Daleks
The Invasion - Cybermen in the tunnel
Tomb of the Cybermen - Slamming the lid on them to keep them inside as well as them coming alive while in the vicinity
Earthshock - Mickey and his mate with the Cyberman trying to work things out like Adric had except unfortunately they never died
I missed the first 10 minutes but my dad said there still hadn't been any explanation about whether Davros had come accross the Cybermen or was meant to have created them.
It's also far too predictable. I said to my dad Mickey would stay behind to be with his gran.
I see next week's from the couple of seconds trailer I saw before putting it onto BBC3 is another bloody Earth one.

A good episode on the whole I thought - even if Mickey and Rose's acting at the end was a wee bit wobbly. I really believed that Mickey was going to be killed off - so it will be interesting to see if they bring him back. I will miss him a little though. I think that he could have been involved in another episode maybe - before leaving the Tardis as he only had two real adventures which seems too little.
Again time was a big factor with this episode as there was so much action in it - yet little character development until the end. I find myself agreeing (strangely) with Patsy about the episode length. Why not an hour per episode?
The Doc did explain that it was a whole new set of Cybermen that Davros created. It was in a brief line.
Liked: Jake and Mrs Magee. Be brilliant if the two of them did turn up on in an episode based on this Earth!
Disliked: The fact that the dramatic showpiece was once again based on a big balloon flying over the city of London - too similar to the last series with The Empty Child.

Ah thanks, Eithne. My dad didn't notice it and if it was when I started watching I didn't either. Throwaway lines like Madame Pompadour to get over the fact they can't be bothered explaining anything.
I noticed that too. I said to my dad about that except it was just Rose then and it was a rope. They're not only ripping off fro the past stories but also their own!
Don't blame you, Nick. This is Dr Who - The Next Generation. It's less Dr Who than the TV Movie was.
