Series 2: Episode 12: The Verdict

Well the end was good although thanks to spoilers it was obvious the sphere was the Daleks. And yet RTD has stated he hates spoilers! He should make up his mind. The rest was boring, dragged out drivel. If Rose does die at the end, it was bloody stupid giving it away right at the start. He knows nothing about suspense.

As for DWC, nearly a half hour ad for Torchwood! I'm still not going to watch that because I'm sick of hearing the name.

The only good thing about this revival is it's made me start watching more of the original. There was a time I watched loads but haven't except the DVD releases over the past few years. Infinitly superior, even the really crap ones.

Hmm... I surprised. I was expecting a long, long rant - comparing the episode to stories from the old series - although now I see why that can't be done. You can't really compare this episode to any previously shown as the Daleks and Cybermen have never battled before.

It has been a dream of many to write over the years, I'm sure, but a certain Mr. Davies got to write an episode first dreamed up all those years ago when he was just a little Welsh boy in love with the Doctor.

40 odd years of dreaming did pay off though, as the episode was surprisingly good. The best one I've seen RTD do anyway, and one of the best so far this series I would say. I did get surprised in the episode, with Mickey returning and with the Daleks coming out of the sphere, even though I had kind of guessed that it would be that.

I'm doubting that Rose will actually die - as she is telling us the story of her death (something that is a wee bit impossible). I'd say that she will live - but it will be the death of her and the Doctor's friendship. Could she remain on as some sort of shadow perhaps?

Oi cheeky. Anyone would think I ranted and compared all the time. LOL!

I suppose we'll have to see next week. Yes indeed. Daleks V Cybermen is a dream. I did one years ago I posted here in the fan fic. But at least I never changed histories unlike RTD. Either all the ruddy Daleks are destroyed or they're not. If not, then it's plausible for the Doctor not to be the last of his race (as we said last year). And as for the Cybermen, new fans will think they were created by a poor man's Davros in an alternate universe so any mention in futire of Mondas or Telos will draw blanks with the general public who'll say it's wrong!

Initial overnight ratings for ‘Army of Ghosts’ show that it was watched by 7.66 million. The episode had the benefit of a significant amount of pre-broadcast trails, and of following directly on from the World Cup. Nonetheless this is still a figure that the show can be very pleased with – if people didn’t like what they had seen in previous weeks they would not have been watching last night! This overnight figure represents an increase of just over 1 million on ‘Fear Her’.

It was ok I suppose..I don't like this narrative business having Rose do a voiceover at the beginning..why can't they just tell the story as it unfolds !!

So anyone got any predictions about tomorrow night's episode then?

I think that Yvonne and Mickey will both bite the bucket, and that Jackie will be reunited with alternative Pete (as he lost his Jackie). Rose might die, but then be brought back to life Captain Jack style. (That is why she is on the beach, because she died and was then resurrected, the Doc left and now she wonders where he is).

No idea. But if Rose dies and isn't resurrected I'll be cheering louder than when Adric got it so get ear plugs. LOL!
