I have just read on the IMDB website that Mary Tamm didn't leave her role as Romana she was replaced by the producers by Lalla Ward
Does anyone have any further information why she was dropped..was she fired?had she upset the producers??

That's not what Mary's said so that is very interesting. She has said her agent doesn't like her having anything to do with DW (hence no interview in the 1999 DW Night) but often does convention panels with Lalla and says she suggested her to take over.

It gave the impression that when the new series was about to start filming..they decided to use Lalla instead of Mary with no regenrating scenes to link the change

If I remember rightly Mary said she was pregnant so wouldn't be going back. I'll have to dig out the convention tapes though.
