A little late, I know, but I've had a busy week so only got around to watching this on Wednesday night. Hmmm... - definitely my least favourite episode so far. It went on and on and on, and I have to admit I really, really wanted Ianto to be killed as he is such an awful actor he should never have been cast.
He cried, and cried and cried so much it ruined the entire story. I've never seen such a poor excuse for a man. Last week I commented on the fact that we had seen very little of him in the opening three episodes - now I know why!!! He is awful, and hopefully we won't be subjected to too much of his acting over the rest of the series.
I didn't felt any connection to the character at all, and had no sympathy for his cyber-girlfriend either. The plot was awfully timed as well. The episode could easily have been fit into 25 minutes. Having it entirely set around the Torchwood offices didn't do the episode any favours either.
Hopefully the writer who wrote this episode won't be writing any more. It is a pity they ruined what could have been a fairly good episode, with a good premise.
This is something I never usually do (believing that writers do have explanations for things and that they just don't have the time to put it in the episode) but in plot hole information, how would Ianto have been able to firstly get Lisa and secondly the whole cyber transformer kit up from London, and then sneak it all in (down what seems to be several flights of stairs). And add to that the arms which came from the roof - surely they would need to be installed etc.
Anyway please, please let episode 5 be better written (and acted).
