From the Mirror:
DOC GETS A BIT OF WHO'S YER FATHER
8 December 2006
DOCTOR Who will be seen jumping into bed with new sidekick Martha Jones in the next series of the hit sci-fi show.
We're rather shocked to tell you that they spend a night together after she falls for the Timelord's charms - but they are interrupted by some baddies. Thank goodness for that!
Martha is a medical student who meets the Doctor because she works at the Royal Hope Hospital - which somehow ends up on the moon. Er, right.
Anyway, she falls in love with him (don't all the girls?) and then they find themselves sharing a tiny bed.
She asks him to budge up a bit and looks pleased with the cosy situation before warning him that "tongues will wag". In a later scene, he gets all protective when some horrible monster threatens to hurt his new girl.
"Touch her and I'll kill you," he snarls. Ain't love grand?
BBC1 boss Peter Fincham tells us: "There's a lot of chemistry going on in that relationship."
And drama boss Jane Tranter adds: "They do spend the night in bed together, but they are interrupted by a monster thing." Let's just hope she's referring to an alien. Ahem.
Writer Russell T Davies just loves to include a bit of saucy behaviour - both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant enjoyed some tonsil tennis with Billie Piper's character Rose Tyler.
Now he's taken things a step further with Martha, played by the stunning Freema Agyeman.
Russell says: "The Doctor and Martha are destined to meet William Shakespeare, blood-sucking alien Plasmavores, the Judoon - a clan of galactic storm troopers - and a sinister intelligence at work in 30s New York."
Crikey.
