The first episode of the new incarnation written by a woman, and the first Dalek story ever written by a woman. Quite a big deal was made of that, mainly on DWC.
Anyway, the episode was good but predictable. Not the best, but a nice build up to next weeks episode. Some obvious padding was the length of time it took Tallulah to realise that her boyfriend was the pig-like creature, and the end - where the Daleks gave their big lecture.
Both good enough, and I'm looking forward to seeing what next weeks brings - with the "unholy alliance" and "change of Dalek history".

Well we thought it was utter bloody rubbish....Doctor Who is going down faster than a bobsleigh on the cresta run...
they just take a moment from history and totally change it......

I thought it was boring too - after 15 minutes this morning I had it on in the background and was doing other things. Cleaning the house was more interesting! lol

I was out Saturday, getting back after it started, and was out most of yesterday so caught up with it last night. I think it's ridiculous Daleks have names. That would imply some sort of emotion. Skaro was NOT destroyed during the so-called time war. The Doctor destroyed it in Rememberance of the Daleks using the Hand of Omega. Tallulah was just so much padding it was unreal. The NY CGI was terrible.
Eithne, Daleks like to talk. That's how they always lose. LOL!
It wasn't bad but could have been better if they'd stuck to facts and DW history.

Thing is tho with the time travel element..you don't know if the daleks you see are in the same time as the Doc.....those on saturday could have been from another period how do we know they are daleks from after all the hoo ha at the end of the last series?? My brain hurts

Much as though I love the Daleks, I am not enjoying this series of Doctor Who as much.
And it's nothing to do with a change of companion, I think Martha is great.

Good point, Nick. After all, the Doctor, Ian, Susand and Barbara all helped destroy them on Skaro in the first story. But hey, time travel meant they encounted them again on Earth!
Rating were down again. 6.3 million. I think a lot of people aren't enjoying this series as much. It's too repetitive.

I like Martha too. At least it's not like The Rose Show. I just wish they'd drop all the companions in love with the Doctor crap and the Doctor in love with whoever.
