Well better than last week but I still can't take Sam Tyler seriously as the Master. He's about as menacing as my big toe. And what was that Flash Gordon moment at the end with the ring? Oh don't tell me. It's the Rani who picked up the ring. Hopefully series 4 will be miles better with no love bullshit and actually tell a damn good story. Patsy

Can somebody answer a couple of questions?
Why did the Doctor go small?.....(when he was old I was half expecting him to say 'Who dear,me dear,a Time Lord dear,no dear')
When he made Time reverse 1 year and a day..wouldn't Martha's family either A.Be back on earth and not on the space station or ..... B.If they were on the Space station wouldn't there be doubles of them back in their house on Earth?before it all started..??.. C.If he can make timer go backwards why dosen't he reverse it so that he can save Gallifrey and the Time Lords..??

If is the Rani who picked up the Masters ring at the end of the episode(and it wouldn't surprise me)..I wonder if they will get Kate O'Mara back?

AND another thing...if he can make the earth go back in time like that why was he so insistent that he couldn't do anything to save Adric when he died on that space station from crashing into the Earth and thus causing the death of the dinosaurs?
I never really watched Blakes 7

Oh I do love all this nitpicking! That's true fans for you. ;D
Good point. But then look at the McGann film. He brought Grace and whatshisface back to life (I remember his real name) after the Master killed them. That was the beginning of the end of established history.
It is getting a bit boring having the end of the Earth as the series finale. Makes me wish it would just blow up.

What was this obsession with the Axons? One of the worst DW stories ever. Obviously a RTD fave so at least we know he's a loony. LOL!

Hmmmm... Where to begin?...
Well overall Episode 13 was better than Episode 12, but in both episodes the use of music was really, really bad. We had "Here Come The Drums" last time and then this episode started with the Master's crazy dance routine. I mean if I was an evil character who was in charge of the world I wouldn't be singing and dancing - rather I'd be making sure I maintained control. Can you imagine Mussolini or Hitler singing and dancing like that?
For me the plot was overly complex for the first half, with it being difficult to understand. I mean, why on earth did The Doctor turn into a Gollum-style creature? It did not make any sense and was done as far as I can see just to show off the CGI technique shown on Confidental. When you have to tune into the companion show to understand parts of the plot, it isn't a good sign! During the second half it did come more into its own though.
I think that the reversal of time only came about as time righted itself due to the paradox machine in the Tardis being destroyed by Jack, though I am not 100% sure. As for the memories all being reversed I agree that it didn't make sense that the Joneses remembered. The explanation that they were central to events and that was why they remembered was wishy-washy at best. And as for The Master being shot by Lucy - why? There was no proper reason, or emotion shown by her. It was just her shooting him without a really, really good reason.
I'm surprised none of you have mentioned this - Captain Jack is The Face of Boe!!! A bit of a letdown for me. A twist, though not a brilliant one. Just an "Oh right..." one. As for the red-nailed woman - has to be the Rani doesn't it? I wonder who will play her? And the Titanic bit was naff TBH. At least it isn't another Earth 2007 storyline. I wonder how Kylie turns up, as it has been widely reported that she will appear. I was expecting her to get a line or two at the end - but she didn't.
Martha's departure was sadly too predictable due to the widespread speculation in the media. She really has came into her own (in comparison to Rose) in the past few episodes so I feel it is really sad that she now is gone - for the Christmas special at least. It takes time to introduce a new major character, as the show esentially has two main characters - The Doctor and his companion. Now that she has been fully introduced and has gained popularity among fans I think it is a pity that she has been reduced to occasional status. I hope she does return though. Was Freema axed or did she want to leave after one series I wonder?
Overall I'd probably say 7 or 8 out of 10. But the Earth obsession needs to go next time around!

I can't speak for Nick but I didn't mention Jack being the Face of Boe because I thought it was just too ludicrous for words.
This is one of the problems I have with this RTD Master. It just isn't because he would never do the things he did in this. It certainly gave the impression he was shagging Lucy but again, he wouldn't. He would use women and get them on side with his charm like Queen Galleia in The Time Monster but not have his hands and mouth all over them. Another sexed-up character. The shooting reminded me of the end of The Avengers ep, Something Nasty in the Nursery where the character was drugged, came out of it and suddenly shot the baddie saying, "You're not my nanny." I was expecting her to say, "You're not my husband." The fact he got her as his wife was never explained. Did she have power and influence or what? He only goes after women who can get him what he wants like he'll ally himself with Daleks or what have you.
Oh yes. The Titanic crashing into the Tardis. The bloody thing is indestructable so it wouldn't.
Martha. Well at least we didn't have her rotten family in almost every ep but they were still in too many. And this lurve rubbish really gets on my nerves. There was nothing wrong with the Doctor and companion just being friends. Worked well for 26 years.

And the Face of Boe had an enormous great head and nothing else. Unless Jack's swelled over time. TFoB was a pointless thing anyway. Patsy
