As I only came into the series with Eccleston (Though i did see the TV movie with McGann when it came out) and never watched it growing up, I'm watching older episodes as I'm getting quite a taste for them. I've seen three or four original 1 series episodes, , The Five Doctors (Davidson) and Robot (Baker) so far.
But i thought I'd tell you what i watched and see if you can remember them, tell me what you thought of these episodes, perhaps regularily? Today i watched:
The Sontaran Experiment

Excellent idea for a thread, Peter. Have a k. I'm not keen on that story. I do like Kevin Lyndsay's Linx though. He was the best of them. This, of course, was the story Tom broke his collarbone. You can see where it happens. He sort of skulks off screen sideways and Terry Walsh is clearly doubling for long shots and where both arms are needed afterwards. Patsy

It was a little slow, but I did like the marshall/stylr(?) Do you know how he broke it? It was doing that slide down the pit was it? I also liked the little arms from the machine that came out and grabbed people/wrapped around people!

That's it. Linx is The Time Warrior. LOL!
He was pushed over by those rocks and broke it then.
Harry is a bit of a moron but I liked him.

After that i watched Logopolis , now I've seen Mr Baker regenerate, but at last i've seen why he falls and regenerates battling the Master. Each regeneration is a little different, but this idea of the keeper was interesting, and a little Eerie.
I think the Doctor (baker) knew the time was coming near for him to die and regenerate throughout.
Following this i couldn't help but follow with Davidson's first series as Doctor in Logopolis: Part 4, then watch Castrovalva, with his regeneration not quite taking and being carried around in that box to recover!
I may go through the Davidson era, as i know somewhere i can watch alot of episodes.

I went off it originally during thd Davison era and even though I've been a fan again 15 years I'm still not keen on it. I much prefer the first 4 Doctors. The Keeper of Traken is on of my faves. Graham Cole from The Bill was in the Melkur costume. Although the late Anthony Ainley became a friend I think Roger Delgado's Master was the best.

I must say, I've got quite used to Adric, I like him. He might look like an elf in pyjamas, but i like his character alot.

LOL! I've never thought of him as an elf before. I must admit I prefer him to Tegan but then I prefer anyone to Tegan. I think it's Janet Fielding which makes me hate Tegan. She's just so awful.

From what I've seen of Tegan is enough! My God, she's annoying.
Anyway, I went back a bit in time and watched The Three Doctors, an amusing episode, use of quarries again. Shame the original Doctor was so old by then that he was limited to appearing on a TV screen advising. Plus I've a soft spot for the "Comic Hobo" Doctor (No, not in that way, eww, that sounds so wrong!)
Now where's my flute?

Well strictly speaking it's a recorder. Poor William Hartnell. He was really ill and his wife was furious he'd agreed to take part because he just wouldn't have been able to manage it so they rewrote it and had him pre-record all his lines. That's my favourite multi-Doctor story, probably because it was an original idea. The Five Doctors has too many characters. I adore Patrick Troughton. He's my favourite actor and it's no wonder he never became typecast due to his versatility. I just wish so many 1st and 2nd Doctor stories weren't destroyed. Patsy

Patsy In that episode it kept changing from being called a recorder and a flute! I like Troughton alot from what I've seen of him. He's got that personality quirkyness that's not to OTT like Baker (Who i love). I'd like to see more of his stuff, but I don't know if I can get hold of any.

I was flicking channels at lunchtime after home and away, trying to find something to put on in the background and i found out classic Dr Who was on UK TV Drama!
I don't know often it's on, but i shall definitely be keeping an eye out! I watched Terror of the Zygons (or something like that) Part 2 with Tom Baker.

I caught Patrick Troughton's Crown Court eps last night (2 out of 3) and he'd conned Liz Dawn. LOL!
According to the UK Drama site it started this month and continues next. Seems to have begun with Tom Baker and is Mon-Fri. There's an omnibus Saturday morning at 8am which moves to 11.20pm the week after.
