As we hurriedly badger our mum into writing a note reading "Please excuse our Episode Guide from PE as he has the sniffles", Hyde explains the rules of the weekend war games. There will be two armies, orange and yellow. Each army will issued with a certain amount of guns and ammo. Each one will have a home base; the team that takes their opponents' base first will be declared winner. And if you forget your kit, you'll have to do it in your vest and pants (perhaps). Tasha doesn't want to be on Duncan's team as she's feeling a bit queasy about "shooting" Robbie. But when Duncan replies that he chose her for her good bush craft skills, Tasha decides that it's a competition she must win. Alf tells Duncan that the event is supposed to be about teamwork, not personal vendettas, but Duncan reasons that the only purpose of war is to pound the heads of your enemies into the dirt, which is exactly what he plans to do. Let's hope that Duncan's not planning a life in politics, shall we?
Stickybeak
Hayley has always been dead good at interfering, so she carries on the habit of a lifetime by telling Jesse how unfair it is of him to only go over to Leah's place in order to see VJ. But Leah thinks that if Jesse wants to see him, he shouldn't lose touch with VJ. She's also still feeling uncomfortable about how close Flynn and Sally are. Irene is asked to dispense some of her unwavering advice, but she twigs that the problem is Flynn. Leah flees. This isn't what she wanted. And later, Sally makes it clear that she doesn't want Flynn doing birthing classes with Leah anymore. Flynn thinks that this is unfair and tells Leah so. However, Leah thinks it's probably a good idea, given how she feels. At this point, Flynn caresses Leah her and tells her that he loves Sally, not her. But Scott catches them together and raises an eyebrow. We don't think that this is going to be a secret for much longer...
Closet case
Val is potless, so Alf does her a favour by deliberately mixing up an order and giving her a big steak dinner instead of the crusts and gruel that she ordered. Later, Scott discovers that Val actually lives in a cupboard at the hospital! We bet the estate agent described it as "a compact, self-contained studio apartment with storage space in abundance; boasts ideal location in close proximity to local health facilities". Val explains that after Jack died he left her a whole lot of money, but the next man she went out with ripped it off her. She was left with nothing. Alf comes up with the idea of persuading Old Mother Hubbard to stay in an unoccupied caravan instead, and she accepts. Meanwhile, the pressure is getting to Sal; she breaks down during class and has to go outside. But she does herself no favours by inviting Jesse to dinner; when he declines, she berates him. Doesn't he realise that by not trusting Leah, by rejecting her, he's virtually forcing her towards Flynn? Jesse is shocked. Sally goes on to wail that for the surrogacy to work, all four of them must remain united. The ball is in Jesse's court once again. Will he ask Leah to give it another go?
