Got up, had life-changing/affirming (delete as appropriate) crisis, went to bed. That's what Jade's journal always used to say, and life in the Sutherland house has been carrying on in its usual fashion since her departure. Yep, another day, another drama, and the current Force 8 gale in the Sutherland family teacup is all down to Val Squires being revealed as Beth's dead husband's mistress. Robbie is the most distressed, having decided that his dad, Jack, must have never loved his family. Tasha has no idea how to comfort him. Later, Beth tells Rhys about Val and Jack. The fact is that she knew about their affair all the time, but never said a thing because she knew that Val gave Jack something she couldn't: a certain type of maturity. And as Andrea Dworkin spins in her grave, Beth carries on to say that she could trust Jack not to hurt the family. However, Beth's excuses for her late husband's philandering make Scott frustrated and angry. He confronts Val, and she tells him not to judge her too quickly. Until he's had someone tempt him, she says, he'll never realise that "love isn't something you can control. It controls you". That's all very nice, love, but perhaps you could exercise a little self-control in future, eh?

Felix Walters, in his own words: "I'm a totally sane guy with a mean streak and I know exactly what I'm doing. You screwed me over, Dani Sutherland, and now it's payback time!" Well, this payback comes quickly thanks to a stinkbomb hidden in Dani's car. Scaree. Hear that funny noise, Felix? It's Dani's knees knocking. But we suspect that the nasty niff is just the beginning of a blood-chilling revenge campaign. Meanwhile, Kane has decided that Kirsty isn't eating the way a pregnant woman should. Kirsty takes another mouthful of peanuts, stilton and raw egg white and tells Kane that he's taking it all far too seriously. But when she suffers from blurred vision in class, and falls asleep, Irene and Sally come to her rescue. Kirsty assures them that she's just tired, although she worries that the bun in her oven might prevent her from completing her HSC. And Flynn is worried about the baby, too; an ultrasound is well overdue...

When Robbie attacks Val in the diner, she tells him it seems that all the Hunters have inherited their father's loyalty. Jack would have been proud of him. Hang on a minute - the loyalty of a man who carried on behind his wife's back for 15 years? Talk about adding insult to injury. And Kane, who is about as sensitive as a housebrick, tells Robbie to get over it. Compared to his old man, Jack Hunter sounds like Mother Theresa. Thankfully, Irene's advice is a touch more realistic: leave it for Val and Beth to sort out and don't let it ruin any memories. However, Robbie still struggles with the situation, so Sally pulls him aside. What he has to say causes Sal to question her own marriage. And as Sally and Flynn reconnect after a long period of estrangement, Robbie and Scott have a long heart-to-heart. Also, Val and Beth meet for the first time. Beth puts the kettle on; it'll be nice to have some hot water in the house that isn't purely metaphorical...
