Following her split from Flynn, Sally found refuge at Irene’s and an unexpected shoulder to cry on in Barry Hyde, who showed a very sensitive side when he visited Sally to discuss school business. Later he also sent her some flowers to wish her well and said he looked forward to them working together in the future. Sally had asked for him to transfer her to another school and when he asked what she would do, if he didn’t, her answer was to quit, hence the flowers. He also asked her not to make any hasty decisions regarding her career, until they had spoken further. Sally also thought the flowers were from Flynn, and when she discovered they weren’t it made up her mind that she thought he didn’t care enough about their marriage, therefore rang Pippa up and arranged to go stay with her for a while, much to the dismay of Irene. Meanwhile over at the Sutherlands, they receive visitors regarding the Twins, which will affect all of their lives.
I really enjoyed this episode, in particularly as they are shower a tender side to Barry Hyde, a character I don’t think has shown his full potential yet. It was also really nice to see him in a different location rather than in the school all the time. Hopefully in the future we will see his home as we did Donald Fisher.
