The opening titles were changed again tonight for the 4th week running with Ella Scott Lynch as the new Hayley.
I guess that means Bec Cartwright wont be seen again now which is a shame but im looking forward to seeing Ella's debut next week.

I've seen some pictures in 'Inside Soap' She doesn't look anything like Bec.

I dont think she needs to really though. She is playing Hayley not Bec and is just an actress bringing the character of Hayley to life.

Aussie soaps seem to cope very well with head transplants. It will be interesting to see her.

They do. Remember Pippa - the second actress is better remembered as she was more recent and played her for far longer than the original.
However as Ella will only be on screen for 3-4 months before leaving then I think it will be Bec we remember as Hayley.

Yes, I saw the credits, but wasn't well enough to come on and comment on them so thanks for that Jez. A lot of people are commenting on the fact that she looks nothing like Bec, including the new actress, but like she agrees with you Jez, she is playing Hayley and they did not want a lookalike of Bec, though it is a severe change. I am still getting used to her, and it is a shame that the last time we saw Bec was when she said no to the Op, it is strange we will not see her again. I always find it strange at first adapting to a new face as they also bring their own 'acting' abilities to their character which is different to the previous actor/actress. Is Ella leaving then?

Well ive not seen Ella in anything else yet but word from Oz is that she was good in the part.
Ella has already left in Oz - she left in the season finale of 2005 so will only be on our screens for about 3-4 months

I got quite a shock when I saw her............I thought it was Kit !! It's going to get even more confusing now that Kit has appeared.

I know what you mean. She does look like Kit! And how strange they bring Kit back at the end of the episode where Ella takes over the role of Hayley.
I think the new Hayley will take some getting used to

Jez, I think this new Hayley will take a heck of a lot of getting used to.
I have to say I don't like her much. ( In fact, she is the first 'head transplant' that doesn't ring true with me )
Oh well, doesn't seem like she is in it for long.

There were a few letters in the tv guides today complaining about Hayley changing heads and that she looks nothing like before etc etc. However people need to realise that Ella and Bec are actresses so dont need to look alike in order to act out a character. They could have taken someone with bloke hair as the new Hayley who would have been a rubbish actress but Ella so far has been brilliant.

I saw that letter. I think Rebecca has been too busy with her baby and court case.

Yes. Far better to bring in another actress than waste the character by killing her off or writing her out, even though she does leave anyway in a few months at least her exit wont be as rushed as it would have been.

Any idea why Rebecca left? Was she pregnant at that time? Or the stress of the impending court case?

Because of her pregnancy. There was about a week between Bec leaving and Ella taking over.

Nothing has been mentioned here - if it had been someone from one of our soaps it certainly would have been

There was a little bit in yesterdays paper, just about the case continuing.
And I am sorry, I still can't accept the new Hayley. In fact my interest in the Hayley/Kim/Scott/Amanda storyline has gone.

Thats fair enough Sooty. Maybe its because I was never a huge fan of Bec anyway. However I think Ella is an excellent actress and it will be a shame to lose her. I thought the facial expressions in last nights ep when she was obviously concerned for Irene, were brilliant!
