The following courtesy of Inside Soap.
Congratulations are in order for Home and Away star Nicholas Bishop who plays for det Pete Bishop, who's become a Dad for the first time. Nicholas and his partner Clare have named their new baby daughter Ava Lily.
However, there's no such good news for Nicholas on screen, as it seems the Summer Bay stalker - aka Zoe McCallister - has claimed his character as her latest victim. Nicholas has filmed his final scenes on the soap a few months back - and having watched Peter's last episode in the Inside soap office, we can tell you that it is a real tear jerker.
Well, what can I say to that? Firstly congratulations to Nick on becoming a Daddy, but I am not sure if it is a shock that Peter will become the latest victim of Zoe. Obviously, he crosses her and she does not like it, considering what we are seeing on screen at the moment.
It's a shame that he is leaving the soap. Though I am sure you are all with me with when I congratulate Nick and also say we will miss you!

I think it is sad that they turned his character 'bad.'

I think it is sad that they turned his character 'bad.' Oh I don't know, it gives you an insight to another side of his character, though I do know what you mean. Have you noticed how funny the connection is to Nick becoming a Daddy? He has a long term girlfriend called CLAIRE who has given birth to his daughter, and his ex on screen girlfriend CLAIRE played by Katrina Campbell was also pregnant!

Shame he is leaving. I read about it in All About Soap. Thought he was on a 2 year contract?

Yeah, he dies via the stalker. His contract of 2 years is maybe already up? I'll see if I can find out.

Well he came back at the start of 2006 in Oz on a 2 year contract so really he shouldnt be leaving until the end of 2007 (early 2008 on uk screens!)
