I have often wondered when Corrie stars have time off how it corresponds with on screen time..for example if they have a month off from recording..are they off screen for a month?...does anyone know..??

I know Barbara is always off Sept/Oct to coincide with her birthday then Reet buggers off mid-October for weeks on screen.

I guess if they are off for a month they would have to be off screen for about that time as well as they film more or less a weeks worth or episodes every week (apart from over Christmas where they have 2 weeks off and have to film further in advance for a couple of weeks/months to make up for the break)
I notice they have sent Claire/Ashley, Liam, Michelle/Ryan all off on holidays. The peacocks have been twice. I guess this is because all of these people have long running storylines so they need to write their hols into the script to explain them being away for a few weeks. With the likes of Barbara and Betty, they are hardly there so they dont need to.

Or Emily. But with Reet they always make a big production number of her annual Oct holiday. Last year it was flaming Budapest.

Liz and Sarah/Jason have also just returned from holidays as well in tonights show. Its realistic as it is the holiday season.

i just wondered that if the character goes away for 2 weeks does the actor also get 2 weeks off?

I would say so - they probabably take their holidays at the same time.
