But if they take it off for 3 weeks for example that would mean they would be able to keep hold of it another 3 weeks longer than they would if they didnt take a break as the show will change channels when they reach a certain episode (rumour has it the 2007 season finale which would make sense)

No because five have the contract from a set episode therefore, even if the Beeb do drag their heels, they will start when they're meant to. We don't know exactly when it ends on one and starts on the other.

The Beeb could be dragging their heels to delay how soon we get to this set episode where the switchover happens.
Oh well maybe BBC are taking it off air for a few extra weeks in December because they have calculated when their final episode will air and it would end too soon had they carried on showing it during December.

Look what happened with Home & Away..it went off ITV was off air for 12 months..then carried on on five as if nothing had happened.... thats when I stopped watching it With Home And Away there was a clause in the contract ITV had with Seven saying if another broadcaster got the rights to the show they wouldnt be allowed to show it until 1 year after ITV's contract expired. ITV refused to back down and let Five show it immediately after it ended on ITV which resulted in a lot of people losing interest during the year it was off air.

It is entirely possible they haven't come up with a proper replacement yet. Have the idiots moaning on Teletext forgotten Fremantle Media wanted £30 million (or whatever it was)? I'm still convinced it was some sort of scam to make sure their own channel had it to boost ratings. Bet five didn't pay the asking price. No need when the parent company of both own it.
Neighbours has lost its way again. I am rapidly going off it for the umpteenth time. If it wasn't for exports it would have ended in the last century.

Still fairly bored today. Who cares abour Brigit and her stupid footie? Or Shed and the dreadful Kirstin's custody battle?

According to someone on another forum Neighbours isnt being shown week commencing 17th December 2007. Instead the schedule is; 1.40. Doctors 2.10. Monk 2.50. Allo' Allo' 3.20. BBC News 3.25. CBBC. 5.35. Cash In The Attic. Interesting. I guess it wont return until the New Year and that this is to delay the move to Five as much as possible. According to All About Soap it returns on Monday 31st December. This might not be accurate but its bloody stupid if it is. It would make more sense for it to take a 2 week break weeks commencing 24th and 31st December so its actually off over the Christmas and New Year period not returning half way through it.

I think I must have missed an episode somewhere.
If so, what has happened to Richard. ? Last I heard he wasn't too well after his transplant......did he die ?

He lived as far as I know. Oliver donated one of his kidneys to keep him alive so he could be punished for what he did to Rebecca.

Does anyone see a similarity between the 'car racing' story and the Drew one in H&A.?

Yes. Especially the "baddies" in the other care being the same as Home and Away. I was trying to work out which was shown in Oz first and who copied who. Neighbours copied H&A I guess as they are both around the same number of weeks behind over here.
Rumour has it Neighbours will be moving to Five in Mid February. I didnt realise it was that soon.

Rumour has it that Neighbours will be off air 1 week between ending on BBC1 and moving to Five. Thats not confirmed at the moment but its a lot better than the year and a bit H&A was off air for!

What a great week for Neighbours. This weeks episodes have been excellent from the hit and run to Declan being kidnapped.

Getting seriously bored again. How many more characters are going to have accidents and be paralysed then miraculously recover? How many more are going to go missing in woods? How many more of the same storylines are they going to keep recycling?

Wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't already seen these storylines played out by other characters over the past year.

I still haven`t caught up on Neighbours since the beginning of November. I`ve just been so busy. Will hopefully catch up sometime this week. Or not ;D
I was just thinking ....(sorry if it`s been brought up before). But regarding Susans MS storyline. What if she`s been injected with something or came in contact with something from that iffy pharmacutical company that Carl worls for? It could be a chemical that has symptoms similar to MS but without the devestating ailments as MS perhaps?. The episode I saw a while back is of Susan nearly getting hit by a vehicle and pulled back just in time. What if the pharmacutical company plan their revenge in a bigger way? i.e. poisoning a lot of people?

Riley is looking good with his new haircut dont you think?
Im enjoying the Susan storyline lots. I hear from the spoilers Pepper is going next week, shame its not Carmella instead as Pepper is a far better character!

Susan's storyline is good and there's plenty of excellent acting from Jackie. Pity the rest is so bad. She should have killed the appalling Bridget. Where did they get her from?
Dullmella will be there forever at this rate.

I have to say I am not very interested in Ringo's ongoing eating disorder.
A good plotline, but Ringo is a character I dislike, so I don't really care about him.
