Report: Six 'Neighbours' stars to go

Long-running Australian soap Neighbours is facing a cast overhaul, with at least six stars expected to leave next year.

According to a report in the Sunday Herald Sun, Stephanie McIntosh (Sky Mangel) has told producers that she will be leaving when her contract expires in 2007. The actress has been trying to launch a music career Down Under; her debut album Tightrope had moderate success when it was released in September.

Others set to leave include Nell Feeney (Janelle Timmins), Sianoa Smit-McPhee (Bree Timmins) and Adelaide Kane, who has yet to hit screens as Louise "Lolly" Carpenter.

The report also claims that two other cast-members have been told by bosses that their contracts will not be renewed.

I caught a few scenes of it one day last week for the first time in ages - and wasn't awfully impressed. The blind girl (Anne?) was in it and she was far better than any of the Timmins family.

i watch it everyday and am going to watch it in 20 mins, i have noticed recently that all the good characters are going, like Izzy,Dylan and Stingray and all the rubbish ones that cant act are having contracts renewed like Ned,Elle and Zeke.

Like a lot of things. Didn't Izzy leave to pursue her pop career? It's funny how when I was in Australia no one here had heard of Rogue Traders. LOL!

I think Rogue Traders had a few hit songs, but weren't that popular. She isn't the new Kylie after all!!! Maybe Sky will turn out to be!!!

It could be just fans of Neighbours and her Sky character that made her album a hit. She is silly to leave Neighbours on the strength of good sales from one album

I caught tonight's episode, and while I liked Sky when she first arrived I realise how irritating the character now is.

The first Rogue Traders album was only available on import in the first half of last year. I think it was Voodoo Child which got in the charts here a few weeks ago.
