Why would Rita & Mike get married..??..if they were going to marry Rita off again,it should be a character who is on a long term contract who isn't going to try to kill her or die of a brain haemorrage...she deserves a bit of happiness bless her

Because he's rich and never even propositioned her. She only marries rich men. She turned Alan down twice because he was skint and wanted her money. She jumped at marrying Ted knowing it wouldn't be long before he died of his brain tumour. Mike has a heart condition and is rumoured to be killed off next year and money and vodka are what she lives for. ;D

I wouldn't really like to see this paring. And if Rita was so much into money and vodka (which she actually mentioned tonight by a strange coincidence), wouldn't she have expanded her Kabin a bit more. Instead of just Weatherfield how about rivalling Dev "seven (burnt out?) shops" Alahan and opening Kabin's in exotic places like Walford, Emmerdale and Chester?  |

Course she is, Nick. She discovered Ted's tumour and had no hesitation marrying him and making sure they stayed in Weatherfield. More inheritance that way.  I noticed her love of voddy mentioned tonight, Eithne and couldn't stop laughing. No, she wouldn't want to spend money by opening more shops. Think of all that extra expense paying staff when she already pays Norris peanuts to work while she had unexplained absences. It's also very rare for her to actually put her hand in her pocket and buy drinks. She'd much rather have them bought for her. Reet and Mike IMHO are ideally suited - love of booze and cash as well as being virtually the same height so no straining the neck snogging. All her previous fellas (with the exception of Alec Gilroy but she was still affected by carbon monoxide there so wasn't thinking straight) have been far too tall. Patsy |
