It's celebration time as cast members of Neighbours past and present gather in the green room to toast successfully filming the 20th anniversary episode of everyone's favourite Aussie soap. Standing in the back row (from left to right) are regulars Kyal Marsh (Boyd Hoyland), Marisa Warrington (Sindi Watts), Blair McDonough (Stuart Parker), Patrick Harvey (Connor O'Neill) and Ryan Moloney (Jarrod Rebecchi), while Andrew Bibby - who last appeared in the soap in 2001 as Lance Wilkinson - is making a cameo appearance. Pictured in row two is Rachel Blakely who returns as Gaby Willis. She appears next to five other existing cast members: Sianoa Smit-McPhee (Bree Timmins), Eliza Taylor-Cotter (Janae Timmins), Ben Nicholas (Stingray Timmins), Nell Feeney (Janelle Timmins) and Carla Bonner (Stephanie Hoyland). Three recently axed cast members, Kevin Harrington (David Bishop), Lara Sacher (Sereena Bishop) and Marcella Russo (Liljana Bishop) appear in row three along with Stephen Lovatt (Max Hoyland). Two more blasts from the past appear in row four as Ian Rawlings (Phillip Martin) and Mark Little (Joe Mangel) reprise their respective roles while two more regulars in the lineup include Jackie Woodburne (Susan Smith) and Janet Andrewartha who plays Lyn Scully. Actor Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy), who was recently the subject of an in-depth interview with Digital Spy, stands proud in the back right of the picture with Lucy Robinson (Melissa Bell), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Dylan Timmins (Damien Bodie). Holding the milestone clapperboard in this Digital Spy picture exclusive is Terence Donovan who plays Doug Willis and who is, of course, father to one of the best known former cast members, Jason Donovan. To his right sits Joy Chambers (Rosemary Daniels) alongside familiar faces Tom Oliver (Lou Carpenter) and Ian Smith (Harold Bishop), while Kimberly Davies completes this all-star lineup as Analise Hartman who will be the epicentre of the celebrations. Digital Spy can also reveal our second picture exclusive: a first look at the anniversary episode itself. Our shot depicts Lou, Doug, Rosemary and Philip admiring the festivities on Ramsay Street. There certainly looks set to be a street party, but how will Karl react to the shocking revelation that's in store for him? The anniversary episodes are due to be screened in the UK in October. Great to see so many of the old cast, and hasn't Ian Rawlings grown. ;D ;D

Wayne Hamilton from S&D seems a lifetime away. I didn`t watch Neighbours when Ian Rawlings was in it the last time. What sort of character did he play? Was he a goodie or a baddie?

He was a decent character, everybody liked him, I was quite sad when he was written out.

Me too Heather, it has been repeated on Channel 5, but it is coming to the end now.

Really looking forward to these episodes. Karl apparently gets a big shock, with life changing consequences whatever it is.

The episode airs next week, with the former stars beginning to return from the end of this week I think.
There might be something regarding the episode in the next edition of the Let's Talk Soap newsletter, which you all should be getting in your inbox over the next few days.

Anyone see that ep and special today? I don't know which was more cheesy - the 20th anniversary ep of Neighbours or the 40th of Corrie. Probably Corrie because it was all about cobbles. At least Neighbours was quite interesting and it was great seeing so many past characters like Plain Jane Superbrain, Hilary Robinson, Gail Robinson , Dr Bev Robinson (you can tell how long ago it was I stopped watching when I only remember them really! LOL!) etc.
The BBC thing after wasn't bad. Might have been better longer with more interviews nad no Andi Peters.

I watched the Neighbours special..i used to watch Neighbours circa 1986-1995
it was good to see old faces..and some I had totally forgotten about !!...Dr Clive Gibbons for one.
The way they did it (Annalise's filmed documentary) was a very good way of including past cast members who couldn't get to the studio..
and Andi Peters was a sycophantic ninny

Andi Peters made even the most moronic, fawning presenter seem intelligent!
Yes Clive Gibbon and his ginger hair. I like Des and Daphne. I used to write to a girl in Queensland in the mid-late 80s and she sent me a TV guide with Madge and Harold's wedding a feature that particular week and we wouldn't have seen it for about 12-18 months. I still have it somewhere. I was very chuffed those two got together and couldn't wait for us to see the eps.
I still cringe when I think of the last bit of the ep. "To neighbours" LOL! I think Corrie still just narrowly tops it wor cringeworthyness though.
