I live in Wales but tend to watch C4 programmes on C4 England rather than S4C as they always mess about with the times.

Yay! I get it on my TV a day before the rest of you!!! Ha!!! I hope RTE keep their "first in Europe" deal for Lost as well, though I can't see Sky being happy about that. Also I've seen ads for Ugly Betty on RTE for Ugly Betty so that could be before C4 as well. Brilliant.

We go into January 10 episodes behind the US but by 11th February we should be 6 or 7 episodes behind. The series is still on hiatus state side until the 7th Jan.
The US have scheduled Season 3 episodes 11-14 and a 3 week break from episode 13 on the 21st Jan until the 14th episode on the 11th Feb.
I'll try and find out about Lost and Ugly Betty for you Eithne and post the info in the relevant threads. Isn't Lost Season 3 already showing on Sky though? No main channel is getting it over here.
Editing my post here. I see you have a mega day of Lost airing right now Eithne? Is that what you are referring to? Will by the end of tonight you have caught up with Sky? Posted up the Ugly Betty info in the US section. You are a head of Channel 4 there too you will be pleased to know.

We are getting a little of DH now, aren't we - but what the hell. The episodes of Lost airing that night was a repeat of the first six episodes of series three. Sky started showing series three in November, but RTE had started at the end of October. RTE were about two weeks ahead of Sky.
What I meant was that I hope RTE continue to be ahead of Sky when the rest of the third series begins again in February.

Oh I see. I wish I'd followed Lost but I missed the first series so didn't try and get into the 2nd. I hope you stay a head.
As to DH you shouldn't get any new episodes until the 2nd and us the 3rd. Unless they have all changed their minds. Well Channel 4 haven't but they have created confusion on their site apparently advertising that DH returns on the 2nd to Channel 4 when in fact they are just re-showing Season 2's end episodes.

I watched the first episode of Lost which was excellent but soon got bored of it and gave up. Infact twice I tried to get into it but got bored after a few eps.

I believe a lot lost the thread of Lost in Season 2. Channel 4 say it shed 50% of its audience from the end of Season 1 to the end of Season 2 and that is why they say they couldn't justify attempting to outbid Sky. If the series continued to shed viewers like it has been doing, it just wasn't going to be a viable option for Channel 4 to spend money on when it could go elsewhere. So they piled it all into securing the 3rd & 4th Seasons of Desperate Housewives it looks like. However in fairness that has consistantly kept its viewers.

I went off Lost at the start of Season Two for a while - just becauseI got sick of the storylines with no real developments happening. But then, when the tail end survivors were discovered I started tuning in again. I really liked Ana-Lucia and Libby - but then they were both shot (perhaps the most shocking episode of any show in 2006) and died. When the third series started I wasn't really sure if I was going to watch or not - but it started getting really good with a surprising amount of the overall plot being uncovered (e.g. The Others lived in a city on another island, dubbed Otherville and have communication with the outside world).
If you really wanted Lane, you could probably buy the DVD's of the first two series over the net - or get them in the sales.
