OMG, I'm still in total shock at this. What a fantastic episode. This programme gets better and better.

I watched this Wednesday night. Best episode ive seen so far out of the 3 series. I cant believe Nora was killed and Lynette shot! Kept me gripped throughout.
Definately 10/10

I agree that it was absolutely brilliant - but episode 8 has a twist at the end involving Lynette that is shocking. And not in a good way. It marks a move away from the usual dramedy stories of DH - and something I've got mixed feelings about as it could be pretty disturbing.
Back to Episode Seven, and I have to say that everyone was brilliant. I agree 10/10.

Can you post a spoiler telling us what this twist is in episode 8?

I caught the end of this just after whoever it was had been shot. The blood wasn't at all convincing but it was a very tense end until the dream bit.

I liked the dream but as it was linked to the dream at the start. It was also nice to see Mary Alice in it for once!

No wonder I didn't understand the point of the dream.

Yes. Lynette was feeling guilty because she never took the time to speak to Mary Alice about her problems, and Mary Alice then then killed herself just after that, so Lynette kept having this dream/nightmare all the time. This all happened before the series started so we never normally see Mary Alice on screen!

I have absolutely no idea who you're talking about. LOL! Who was the one who did the shooting before someone shot her?

Lynette is the one who was shot but survived and the one who was having the dream. Lynette is one of the 4 lead character in the series.
The one who did the shooting was the wife of the supermarket manager I think because she found out her husband had had an affair (I think that is right!)

Right. I expect if I'd watched all the way through I'd understand what went on better.

as to lack of real blood, it sort if isn't expected to that convincing. I don't think the show tries to be convincing.
Loved episode 7. My husband has seen it 3 times already (E4 first and second showings and Channel 4 first showing). I must admit I stuck at once.
I knew that Nora and Carolyn both died for months now, but even so I wasn't anymore happier when actually seeing their deaths. They were good characters and well acted in the episodes leading up to their demise. Shame they were got rid of.
Episode 8 Children & Art is a filler episode but still I liked it, my husband wasn't so keen. However it has some really classic scenes in it that more than make up for any not so good ones. The twist ending didn't have much of an impact on me I guess because I knew it was coming. It caused quite a debate in the US when it aired. If Eithne hasn't already put it in the spoiler thread Jez I will now.

Right. I expect if I'd watched all the way through I'd understand what went on better. Patsy Generally they are very good with catchups, so you don't need to have watched from the start of the series. However that whole dream thing you really needed to see the episode through and furthermore understand who Mary Alice was to get the dream. Mary Alice shot herself in the first two minutes of the very first episode - 2 and a half years ago. Literally a Desperate Housewives. Well actually there were other reasons why she shot herself. She was being blackmailed and this all unravelled throughout the first season. The dream sequence you saw was the character Lynette seeing in the street and later hearing Mary-Alice shoot herself in the seconds leading up to the pilot starting. The episode "Bang" started with Lynette's guilt because Mary-Alice had been one of her bestfriends. Following her death Mary-Alice has remained a central character, narrating the show from the grave and binding all the characters together. This thread will explain it better. letstalksoap.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=housewives&action=display&thread=1167683634and if you are interested go to emmerdale.org/teri/DH/S3/ you can find recaps for each of the episodes this season so far.

Eithne PM's me that spoiler. It is quite shocking but I guessed there was something strange about the character in question.

I think you are still meant to be keeping an open mind. However the story is wrapped up very quickly.
