Another excellent episode following on from the brilliant episode 7.
I quite liked Gaby in this episode - normally she is the housewife I dislike the most. Bree and Lynette will always be my favourites.
I liked the stuff with Orsen's mother especially that scene at dinner with Bree and Andrew!
The stuff with Julie and Austin is quite boring in places but it was good to see Karl in this episode.
The twist at the end with Lynette was quite shocking. I wonder if there will be an explanation in the next episode?
8/10

The twist at the end with Lynette was quite shocking. I wonder if there will be an explanation in the next episode? If this guy is what he appears to be, I have no doubt he will come up with a creditable explanation. But I know what I think he is.

Episode 8 Children & Art is a filler episode but still I liked it, my husband wasn't so keen. However it has some really classic scenes in it that more than make up for any not so good ones. The twist ending didn't have much of an impact on me I guess because I knew it was coming. It caused quite a debate in the US when it aired. This storyline will also be wrapped up very very quickly.
This 8th episode had a hard act to follow coming straight after "Bang", arguably the best episode to date. However even so, it started a lot of interesting storylines.
Austin/Julie moved up a step and seeing the good little girl finally rebel (as predicted by Edie some episodes back) was different. I just loved the whole Ian/Susan catching Julie/Austin on the sofa scene. That was a classic Desperate Housewives moment with top-notch dialogue. I was laughing my socks off. This was one of those scenes that is quite memorable. And at last Susan being the responsible parent that she surely has been in the past before becoming desperate, to raise such a level headed girl. A serious scene handled comically and pulled off well. The rest of Julie and Austin is hit and miss but watch for this story being a biggy in the coming episodes of this season.
One of the other most memorable scenes from this episode and a classic Desperate Housewives moment involved Andrew (of course), Orson, Bree and the introduction of Orson's mother. Oh I love Gloria? Hodge and the mystery with her is just going to get bigger.
As to the finale, it just left you wanting more. Spooky, creepy and I imagine if you weren't expecting it, a huge surprise.
For those 3 components alone I give this episode 7/8 out of 10, even if I can't remember what else happened.
So far for me this season episodes 1, 2 & 7 have been the best. DH at its best. 5 and 6 were also good as was 3.
Episode 4 has been the weakest link so far, but even that wasn't too bad.
Episode 8 when good very very good, so more than makes up for the rest of the episode that perhaps wasn't so good.
