Teri is more than on-screen mum

Andrea Bowen, best known for playing Julie Mayer on Desperate Housewives, has said that on-screen mother Teri Hatcher is almost as important a mentor to her as her real-life mum.
The young star also insisted that the 43-year-old, who plays Susan Mayer on the show, was a reassuring figure to have on set.
"You know who's great for me, in terms of being there, that's Teri," the 17-year-old confirmed.
"I love working with her, she's a wonderful mum in real life and so she feels these very maternal instincts towards me.
"And that's really great because I feel like she's there for me no matter what. She's always asking me how I feel and if I'm OK and it's always good to have that. I have my mum and I have my second mum."
The youngster, who has recently been lending her support to a programme designed to raise self-esteem among young teens, insisted that Teri was a good role-model.
"I learn from just watching the way Teri handles things," Andrea said.
"One thing I do really respect about her is that she is who she is and she accepts that. She doesn't change when she's around other people and I have a lot of respect for that."
