Welcome back ladies. The new series started of brilliantly, if the rest is as good, we are in for a treat. The new family seem as dark as the last one.!!

Just seen the first episode of the new series on E4. An excellent episode to start the series. I loved the mix of drama and comedy and they were even able to make light of Lynnette's cancer storyline with some comedy moments like her looking for her wig and her being sick in that woman's bag! Im glad Lynette said its looking hopeful for her recovery as she is my favourite housewife!
Also loved Bree in this episode. Great to have her back. I can also understand why she is doing what she is. Shame Andrew only had a small part.
The new family seem interesting - I wonder what the big secret is. The daughter clearly isnt the same person who lived there before that Susan and Julie remembered. So I take it apart from Susan all the others are quite new residents of Wisteria Lane then since that woman didnt seem to know the others.

Yes - great start to the new series. Some lovely comedy moments (Bree with the fork stuck in her 'pregnant' stomach, Lynette barfing etc etc).
And dramatic right from the off - obviously something happened to the new family before they moved away, otherwise why all the stuff with the locked room ... and why did they have to come back to Wisteria Lane?
Only regret I have is that I missed the rerun of last season's last episode which might have cleared some of the cobwebs from my memory before we launched into this new season! ;D
All very promising.

Something terrible must have happened to the daughter in that room.
Me too but they did a good recap!

Another excellent episode. I love Bree and share her dislike for that new woman (cant recall her name now). It was amusing to see Bree get so worked up about that recipe.
Also nice to see a different side to Gabby in this episode when she was telling Lynette about her dad.

I think her name in Katherine.
I find it hard to believe that daughter has no recollection at all of Wisteria Lane. Something has gone on there, ( maybe to do with her father ) and something has been done to blank her memory.
The only one I dislike ( and have done from the first episode ) is Edie.

Yeah I dislike Edie but sometimes I do feel sorry for her too.

Me too, and that's why Edie is now one of my favourites. I started off disliking her intensely, but as the show has gone on, we have seen more and more of her vulnerable side. Yes, she's still a scheming cow, but I think that basically she's very insecure - I wonder if we'll find out anything about her past? Great (second) episode this week too - I have to ignore this thread until the weekend (to avoid spoilers), as we don't normally watch the show 'til Friday.

I think both Edie and Gaby are schming cow's but both have their nice sides as well. Poor Carlos stuck with both of them though!
Well I watched the first episode on E4 on Sunday and the second episode on C4 on Wednesday so it varies for me.

I've seen some of Season 4 and I've not been disappointed with any of it so far. I love Katherine. I can see why she was the first choice for Bree, although I don't think she is quite weird enough about Dana Delany to play Bree. Unlike Marcia Cross who I find odd off and on screen (and I don't mean odd in a bad way necessarily). Marcia is just perfect for Bree.
I have always loved to hate Bree, I couuldn't and wouldn't want to imagine the show without her. Mind you if it was real life I wouldn't want her near me she is so so fake. I also got so sick of Bree latter end of Season 2 and early Season 3 when it seemed to become the Desperate Bree show. So far in Season 4 for me, Bree has settled down a bit and isn't hogging all the screen time. I'm growing to love to like Bree now more and more with each passing scene.
I sometimes wonder if Dylan has been switched but that is too obvious as is sexually abused at the hands of her natural father. So I guess we will have to wait and see.
My favourite characters have always varied from story to story and season to season. For Season 1 and most of Season 2 Lynette was a favourite of mine. She seemed so genuine and the most realistic. But then she started to get repetitive, bossy, manipulative, controlling, shrieks all the time, lets animals die (sorry spoiler here but two more die at her hands in season 4) and this was all before she had cancer. She makes demands and expectations of her children and husband. By the end of Season 3, the character I had once most loved, I could no longer bear to watch and had no sympathy with her her current storyline at all. It is time Cherry took Lynette back to what she was.
I love Edie and Gaby as they are just so outrageous. Gaby particularly so, I always wait to see how low she can stoop and she never disappoints. The fun of Gaby is you just can't take her seriously because she is just so unreal. There is a typical classic Gaby moment in the promos thread right now recently added for the upcoming US and Ireland episode - Season 4 episode 11 "Sunday." It is a spoiler for those us still very early into Season 4, but those of you up to episode 11 it is well worth a watch.
My favourite characters of the moment are Danielle, Andrew, Susan, Carlos, Gaby, Katherine and Edie.
Susan like Lynette I think is sometimes badly written. They make her too repetitive with her clumsyness when quite clearly Susan has to have had some brains to be a successful children's author/artist. She also raised Julie, Julie hasn't always done it on her own. However for me Susan of all 5 women is the least selfish and tries to be the most genuine, she just lands herself in scrape after scrape. I also watched the show out of curiousity to begin with because I was a Teri Hatcher fan from her Lois and Clark days. It isn't Teri's fault if Marc Cherry sometimes gives her the worst storylines. Although so far this season I quite like Ssuan's story, although I didn't like the writing for her much in episode 3 (which aired on E4 last night).

Sorry in my post above I should of answered this question of yours Jez.
There is an episode in Season 2 (which aired on E4 earlier in the year so I reminded myself of it) that tells you when they all arrived. You actually see each of the main 4 ladies arriving on Wisteria Lane in flashbacks.
At the beginning of Season 1 Mary-Alice had lived on Wisteria Lane 15 years I think. At the end of Season 2, Susan had lived on Wistera Lane 14 years. Bree had lived on Wisteria Lane 11-12 years (my hsuband and I can't agree). Lynette about 8 years and Gabby 3 years.
So actually Bree should of just about known Katherine but she apparently doesn't. At the beginning of Season 4 Katherine had been gone 12 years, which means at the end of season 2 she would of been gone 10-11 years. We don't know when Edie moved to Wisteria Lane I don't think?

Season 4 has been very, very good so far. All the pre-writers strike episodes have aired over here now, the last of which was shown 3 weeks ago. The new episodes, filmed since February, will begin this Tuesday night - which should be good.
I can tell you all that there are some very good episodes coming up and the last two I've seen were two of the best ever, with some truly spectacular scenes.

Good to see the gay couple putting Catherine in her place. I just cant warm to her.
Bree was on form again last night, did feel sorry for her ex mum in law though. Im bored with the stuff with Carlos and Gaby and there was no need to bring John back AGAIN!

I was slightly bored with this weeks episode (shown C4 on Wed but just repeated on E4). It just failed to hold my attention really. It had its good points like Orsen and Bree, and Lynette and her family. The Victor/Gaby/Carlos triangle does nothing for me though!

I like the way they have turned Orsen around from being the bad guy to being a decent character. I am worried about where this Mike drug thing is going though.
I thought Katherine was very clever with her daughter over her dead?? ex husband

I am really loving this series. I can't remember much of season 1 as I only casully watched it, however from what I can remember I'm finding Season 4 the best so far.
I love the mystery of Katherine and the psychological mind games they are playing with the viewer regarding her. I don't believe she is all good or all bad.
Orson, I cannot accept at all. Especially since rewatching Season 3 on E4 just before Season 4 started. They set him up to be a bad guy, he was intended to be the bad guy and then they rewrote history and changed their minds. I feel they made fools out of the viewer. It is like deciding one day without any warning or even rewrites in scripts, that Tracy Barlow is 60 years old and Betty Turpin's daughter. Well maybe not that bad, but I hope it illustrates how I feel. I might feel a bit better to Orson once the truth about Mike comes out - as in all good soaps it has to sometime sooner or later.
Mike, the drugs thing, I can't remember him being an addict? Was it referred to in Season 1? Was it something from his past?
I love Lynette's mum and I'm looking forward to all the action with Kayla coming our way as the season progresses.
The Victor stuff with Gaby is getting a bit tiresome now. As to Gaby and Carlos, I just see them as a little bit of comic relief. I think they have gone beyond the point of being taken seriously.
Susan, as clutzy as she is, although that does seem a little less, seems the most genuine of the housewives, I'm not really sure where her story is headed thogh.
Edie I think they maybe be dragging her out a bit too.
I'm enjoying Bree. She is not being over-used like she has been in the past for my tastes and nor are they over-doing her. I've gone back to enjoying all her daftness. Although I don't see the point of her latest stunt with baby Benjamin and going against Orson like that.
My favourite characters are Andrew, Danielle, Carlos, Katherine and Susan right now but it changes all the time.
