Even though I'm not a big fan of his I actually like the whole Jarvis/Freda storyline so far. I'm hoping it will make the character more interesting, and give him his first proper storyline.

Wasn't it rumoured he was leaving this year?

I never heard that, although this could be it. He hasn't exactly done much during his time in the village has he? The story seems to have been forgotten about this week with more King stories.

Maybe it was just paper talk when they said about others going.

Its good that Jarvis is going to get a storyline ( He must, otherwise the appearance of his ex would be pointless. )
He has propped up the bar and lurked in his shed for too long doing nothing.

I totally agree Sooty! He has been in it for a few years now, and he still has never had a major storyline really. There was the whole village verses Frank Bernard thing - but he didn't have too much to do in that storyline. It was just for a few weeks.
Does anyone remember when his ex appeared before, when he and Edna were at a dancing championship?

IMO this is why Emm is so good at introducing new characters. They bring them in, then let them simmer slowly in the background until we're really used to seeing them around before they kick off with the big storylines. Also (IMO) this is where they went so wrong with the King dynasty - too much, too soon.

Welcome to the Emmy board blackcatz!
I agree that Emmerdale is good at introducing characters, then letting them simmer for a while (like Delilah at the moment) but Jarvis has been there for three/four years now surely?
As for the Kings Carl arrived a good while before the rest though didn't he? He arrived around January 2004, working for Tate Haulage. Then Jimmy, Tom and Matt followed in February and March, all arriving at different times. Then Sadie arrived in May, so it did all happen rather slowly.

I agree with blackcatz about the Kings. Now they've monopolised. They were in one big storyline after another.
I think Carl was a couple of weeks before we saw Jimmy or Matt outside Tate Haulage when they staged that robbery.
I liked that Edna and Jarvis dancing thing. I'd forgotten Freda appeared then. Is it the same actress?
