What do we actually know about Edna? This storyline about her son coming in, and this secret of hers got me thinking?

I mean we know she is a devout churchgoer, and there is nothing wrong in that, but was there a reason for that? We know grand daughter Evie was born out of wedlock, so what else is there to find out?

I also think she has a secret desire for Tom too. SHe has always thought a lot of Tom, but the other night, she made it clear that she thought of him as a CLOSE friend?

Well there's a lot to do with her sister coming into it and Edna drops a bombshell of her own in two weeks. It stuns Tom.

I'm really pleased Edna is getting her own storyline and look forward to hearing just what comes about...
To me there is more to Edna than we know, I've always thought so...
I'm also looking forward to her sister coming in as that will stir things up and we may find out just what makes Edna tick!

she is a good friend to Gloria who was Eric Pollard`s wife too, Edna is good hearted but has mystery about her she does keep herself to herself and only mix`s with people of her chooseing like Tom

Yes she was a good friend to Gloria but also to Betty and Pearl but she still keeps herself to herself like you said... Tom seems to be the only person that can get through to her which is a first because no one as ever been closer... Lets hope it continues!

i think there was a Mr Birch but that he did the naughty thing with the sister as Edna wouldnt go in for all that and that Peter is the result of that liason but the sister couldnt bring the child up and left him with Edna

yes I think Tom is being a good friend to Edna and there is no reason why that shouldn`t be enough for her, even if she is holding a torch for Tom

What has been good about this is that it has finally given Shirley Stelfox a storyline.

To me she is the best actress in soap. No one will convince me otherwise....

And I'll bet you never forgot it. I think out of all the cast, she would be someone I'd want to have a chat to. She's a great actress from the stage and must have tons of stories to tell. I'd happily get quite merry with her.

I remember her in an episode of Casualty. It stood out for me because of her. She played the mother of a woman who was convinced her baby was in hell.

Sooty you're right. She played Madge Richmond in the mid-80s who went out with Harry Cross's lodger Ralf and who Harry soon saw off. She had that bun and enormous glasses.

I think I would like to see Edna in a relationship and if its Tom then thats fine by me but if like you say he is going with Rosemary for the money which I do believe is correct then how will Edna stand a chance?
