From Digital Spy
Actress Nicola Wheeler is to make a dramatic return to Emmerdale this autumn after an 18 month break from the soap.
The 33-year-old – who played super-bitch Nicola Blackstock before leaving the village in 2006 – returns to the Yorkshire dales in September under her new married name, Nicola De Souza.
With new-found finances in tow, will she be able to pick up the pieces with her father Rodney and half-brother Paul? And will she be able to lay to rest the endless feuds with the Emmerdale residents who she offended with her tirade of insults when she left?
Upon her return, Nicola takes an immediate shine to David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and true to form, stops at nothing to get what she wants.
Nicola said: "I'm very excited to be back. It will be nice to see the changes to the character and catch up with what she’s been up to since we saw her last.
"It's interesting to go back as the same character but with a different name and a much bigger bank balance to help her cause even more trouble!"
Series Producer Kath Beedles added: "We're delighted to welcome Nicola back to the show. The villagers will get the shock of their lives when she makes her grand entrance later this year and can expect fireworks as Nicola vows to reclaim her status in the village."
Nicola returns to filming in August and her first scenes are scheduled to be on screen in the first few weeks of September.
I can't wait for this.
She will give Rosemary a run for her money in the 'bitch ' stakes.
