His character is no great loss so it`s just as well. I won`t miss him that`s for sure.
RAPE rap Emmerdale star Ben Freeman—who‘s facing 20 years if convicted—has been sensationally FIRED from the soap, the News of the World can reveal.
An ITV spokesman confirmed last night: "We cannot be sure of Ben's availability for work, so we cannot renew his contract. It is due to the uncertainty of the process of law and the lead times in writing a character in and out of a soap."
Freeman, 27, who played womanising mechanic Scott Windsor, has been on leave of absence since being accused of raping a 16-year-old British girl in Barbados a year ago. He is due to return to the Caribbean island next year to stand trial.
The devastated star said: "I am focusing on the legal proceedings in Barbados and look forward to speaking to ITV once this situation is behind me."
An TV source said: "It's a highly unusual someone to be fired BEFORE they've been found guilty of a crime, but for the moment his TV career is over. This was the bad news Ben desperately didn't want."
Freeman was dropped from Soapstar Superstar after the we revealed the allegation last December. He is dating Victoria Hawkins, Emmerdale's feisty WAG Sharon Lambert. She has vowed to stand by him.
