Neighbours' cliffhanger sees a roof collapse at a dance party with most of the younger cast members in peril. In a storyline reminiscent of the 2004 fire at Lassiters, the street residents gather outside to see who will make it out alive.
The residents of Ramsay Street are left reeling in the wake of a dance-party tragedy. Zeke, Ringo, Declan, Bridget, Riley, Ellie, Josh, Jessica and Taylor are all trapped inside the warehouse as the building collapses around them.
Rachel is oblivious to the catastrophe after leaving the party early to secretly spend the night with her teacher, Angus, where she took their relationship "to the next level."
Horrified at the news, the Erinsborough community frantically rush to the scene of the disaster in the hope of finding their loved ones safe, but Josh is the only one to have escaped so far.
Becoming increasingly impatient with the recovery crews' rescue attempt, Libby impetuously races inside the building to find Zeke, with a startled Karl hot on her heels. Just as they make contact with Zeke, a final, bigger collapse takes force, trapping Libby and Karl inside the wreckage.
