Woo-hoo! We get shot of Shed!!!!! I remember a long time ago it was said Neighbours was only still being made due to other countries. Five have a 10 year contract. Somehow I doubt it will last that long. Ten will pull the plug within a couple of years. Patsy

But Jezziekins, Five's parent company owns Fremantle Media which bought Grundy therefore own it so it won't make much difference. The whole thing stank the way the price was put out of the Beeb's reach. There's no way RTL would pay £300 million for a show they make. They may not be very happy but they won't lose too much money over it's demise.

So you really think Neighbours could be axed despite its huge fanbase in the uk? It would be sad if it was as ive watched it since I was small. Only Corrie ive watched longer.

The fanbase isn't what is was in its heyday. Ten aren't in the business of sentiment. They need to make money and if it's not making money it will be dropped. It failed originally on 7 don't forget then Ten picked it up. If you'd seen the dross on TV over there which is worse than ours it is surprising it doesn't do better. There really isn't anything of importance up against it on the main networks. The news on most is at 6pm with that half an hour later. I can only assume cable is the draw, which Juanita doesn't have.

Or maybe they just watch less tv in Oz than us Brits do.

Well 2 million, as I said in 2006, is good over there. Something got that while I was there and it was number 1 in the ratings. Australians seem to eat later than us so it can't be that. Maybe they just have a life. LOL! Juanita rarely watches TV. Mind you she's rarely at home. but when she is she's usually working or watching a DVD.

I heard a lot of our shows are popular over there, and US series too.

BBC ends up on ABC. The rest are mainly US shows like Supernatural. LOL! but they do have their own versions of things. No idea when Nine stopped showing Corrie. It clearly wasn't a success as they brought it forward an hour during my 5 weeks then it was about 3pm a couple of months after I got back. I know it's on UKTV though on cable.
