Anything puzzled you? I'll start off.
Why do they go to the cafe for breakfast or a cuppa when they live yeards away?
Why do they go to the cafe or pub when they're meant to be skint?
Why in EE does a week's washing for a family fill one bag?
How does the pubs and shops make money when there's little passing trade?
Why are the corner shops still open and not Tesco Expresses?

Anything puzzled you? I'll start off. Why do they go to the cafe for breakfast or a cuppa when they live yards away? One of my personal favourite questions. Not only do lots of people go to the cafe for a bacon roll, because presumably they're too useless/lazy to make their own - but in an episode in the not too distant future, the same characters will be WORKING in the cafe. The person who couldn't even manage to make a cup of tea is suddenly in sole charge of a cafe, running the whole show, doing full English breakfasts, lunches, takeaway orders, as well as doing the books and conducting a love life - all at once.

Why in EE does a week's washing for a family fill one bag? Hmmm - and how come nobody has a working washing machine at home? OK - so they need communal areas where the characters can congregate/interact/kill each other etc. but get real - a launderette? I reckon they don't have much washing because so many clothes are ruined, either by blood stains from random violence, or ripped off during casual sex. So most garments wind up in the bin, and not in a laundry bag. Just a theory.

PMSL! Good one, Pearly. Of course. When you think about it the answer was so simple. Dot should be out of a job.

Brookie residents used to watch Meadowcroft Park, which we all know was the original name for Brookie. Corrie ones should watch Florizel Street. LOL!

Why do soap characters never watch soaps ? Most of them are in the pub when the soaps are on! A while back they showed Les Battersby slagging off the Jeremy Kyle show, because of the nasty, violent, layabout thug types who were on it - with no trace of irony whatsoever!

A pet peeve of mine. Why do Carla and Tony allow the girls to go drinking at the Rovers lunchtime and then operate machiney when they get back?

How come they all have jobs on the street, square, or village where they live.

Why do characters have their neighbours names and numbers on their cell phones, yet hardly give them the time of day if they should meet in the Rovers/Queen Vic/Woolpack unless they were in trouble?

LOL! Yes!
Why do they phone someone in the same street rather than knocking on the door?

This has been one of my favourite unanswered questions for years Pearly! ;D
Particularly in Emmerdale when you have scruffs like the Dingles having meals in Viv's cafe alongside well-heeled folk like the Kings and now the Da Souzas - realistic? I think not.
Surely IRL, a cafe like her's in the Dales would be used by holiday-makers and walkers?
Of course the logical answer is that it's just (over)use of dramatic licence - a way of keeping various stories/gossip/general in-filling going without having constant set changes, but I agree that it always looks plain daft.
That said, Roy's cafe isn't nearly as out of place in Corrie as Viv's cafe in Emm; likewise the cafe in EE (does it still exist? - haven't watched EE for years). Neither of those two look ridiculous, and you can imagine the locals using them, tho' probably not as often as they do!
