From the Manchester Evening News:
Corrie star's pitch drama Ian Wylie 11/ 7/2007
CORONATION Street actor Michael Le Vell is recovering after breaking three ribs in a charity football match.
The 42-year-old, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster, was taken to hospital amid fears he had punctured a lung.
He was stretchered off wearing an oxygen mask after crashing into the opposing team's goalkeeper.
More than 1,000 spectators watched the off-screen drama as Kevin took the field for a celebrity XI at Heaton Mersey, Stockport.
There was concern for the star after he collided with the 'keeper, whose knee struck him in the ribs. Medical staff rushed to his aid on the pitch.
The soap favourite, who has played Kevin since 1983, spent five hours in hospital before being discharged and went into work on Monday to film several scenes. He then had a scheduled day off yesterday, but was back on set again today.
Now Manchester United fan Michael says his playing days are behind him.
"I was in agony," he said. "I'm putting my football boots on eBay. My footie days are over."
A Coronation Street spokeswoman said: "Michael is still extremely sore, but has not missed any scenes."
Co-star Steven Arnold, who plays butcher Ashley Peacock, is due to meet producer Steve Frost this week for a ticking off after he missed a day's filming last Friday.

I think I broke my middle finger when I was a baby as it's crooked. I definitely broke my toe two years ago.

About 2-3 weeks Pats. I had 3 cracked ones and 2 broken ones. Surprisingly the cracked ones hurt more than the broken ones.

That is a surprise but I'm glad you didn't suffer too long.

I broke my toe as well about 7 years ago. That was bad enough.

I had a broken arm as a child (or a greenstick fracture as they called it) and had a plaster on for a few weeks. Everyone in my class ay school signed it and I felt very important. You don't get all that attention with broken ribs - just pain and inconvenience. michael must be really suffering.
Incidentally, if you look up Michael Le Vell on Wikipedia they mention his penchant for tight jeans and ass wiggling - bet he won't be doing much of that for a while, lol!!

Someone I was at school with broke both her arms in PE so was more important than my friend who just broke one falling off her bike. LOL!
