From Digital SpyAlison King has confessed that she finds it hard to navigate Coronation Street in her character's sexy footwear. The 34-year-old beauty, who plays Carla Connor in the show, finds it hard to strut down the famous street in her character's towering heels. She admitted: “I keep tripping over in the gaps between the cobbles – it’s hell as I’ve got three to four inch heels on my boots and it’s a bit like walking on stilts! “It’s hard to look sexy when I’m always falling over! I think I’ll have to fill in the holes between the cobbles to stop it happening.” It's a miracle to me that there haven't been any serious injuries teetering over those cobbles, I wonder if the actresses insure their ankles.

LOL! Another Polish hip for Blanche?
Personally I don't like cobbles however 'quaint' they might be. Luckily there aren't many around these days, but the do have them at Covent Garden where I go somethimes and it's murder to walk on them. Once I took my son in his buggy up to the Transport Museum and had to push it over the cobbles and I felt like I was operating a pneumatic drill! God knows what the poor baby felt like!

I dont think it was stupid. The Cobbles are as part of Corrie as Ken Barlow, Betty's Hotpot and the Rovers!

It was never going to happen and an excuse to be able to film the live ep at night hence it being stupid.

But it was for Corrie's 40th anniversary and they did an excellent job of the live episode IMO.

Imagine what it was like in the old days in a carriage with no suspension...no wonder the Victorians always looked so miserable
