One of the best episodes of Doctor Who I've ever seen... Wow!
I now know why so many fans of the original series talk of hiding behind the sofa - I was almost doing that while watching the zombie-ified man in the space suit. And the whole thing with the shadows was also pretty terrifying.
Steven Moffat really does write the best DW episodes (like the Empty Child and the Girl in the Fireplace) so I'm delighted he's got the gig for Series 5. In that series there will probably be more great episodes than in all the four preceeding series.
Back to series 4 and another creepy thing was hearing the people talking after they had died. It was so emotional and I loved Donna throughout that scene. And what of "tragic" Donna and the thing with River Song. This episode raised so many questions and is more of a "pilot" for Steven Moffat taking over than an ordinary two parter, as I'm certain many of the questions won't be answered until next series at least.
The little girl's connection to the events has to be the most puzzling aspect of all though, doesn't it? Anyone got any theories?

Loved it! Everything DW should be. I screamed as the cat had the sofa. Left me asking questions and left me wanting more. Blink is still my favourive

It took concentration, my only complaint, so if you missed any you would be screwed. Just hope you haven't had it spoiled for you.

I'll go back when RTD's gone. We always said he wrote the worst eps. Steven Moffatt like Mark Gatiss wrote for Big Finish and they both wrote good eps in this. Pity the format doesn't really allow for things to be expanded upon unless it's a two-parter.

Patsy - I'd highly recommend watching this episode when its repeated on Friday on BBC3. I know you don't like Catherine/Donna but she really does play a backseat in this episode and its the story that takes the front seat for once - not what "emotional turmoil the Doctor is being put through this week".

Are you afraid of the dark? Well I think I am now. It says something when my husband has tried to ban DW from the house since the end of RTD's Season 2. I carried on with Season 3 and quite liked some of them. And Steven Moffat's Blink well I think that is up there with any of the classics. It was just... brilliant. In that it left me asking questions all the way through, it left me wanting to find out what was going on and answered all. It was frightening, entertaining and mysterious. "Silence in the Library" was the same. Season 4 I've missed a lot of them and those I have watched I've not been all that impressed with. Then I found out Steven M. had written Saturday's so told my husband I was watching it. He grumbled, complained some more, moaned some more, yet do you know what? He sat there and watched it all with me. He hasn't admitted he liked it, but the fact he watched it and interacted with me throughout out tells a story. The fact I loved it says something. Only one mild complaint, other than it required concentration that is, Donna! It was so obvious with little hints dropped all the way through, that you are supposed to think she is dead. The obvious hints will be RTD's doing I'm sure. However it is obvious she isn't. The little girl has put all the survivors in a safe place so they can be retrieved. As to Donna being a node, I don't think she is. Afterall a node told Donna early in the episode that the computer chose a face that it thought she might like/find pleasing etc. So by that logic, the computer chose Donna's face from its databank as it thought hers might be a pleasing face to the Doctor? We shall see. Can't wait to find out where the little girl fits in. Can't wait to find out more about River Song. For once this episode wasn't rushed, it fitted neatly into a 45 minute time slot and I could find no loopholes. I hope part 2 doesn't disappoint. For the record I really liked "The Girl in the Fireplace", but I thought that was a classic example of being a victim of time restriction and left unanswered questions and in the end felt let down by it as it was forced to do too much in too little a time - for which I do not blame Steven at all. Steven Moffatt should of been allowed to of had that as a two parter. I'm glad his current one has been allowed a two parter.
