Corrie bosses have to stop filming for 10 minutes every day because of a noisy air-conditioner.
The racket wafts over the cobbled set from Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry every afternoon.
A source said: "The noise is picked up by microphones and apparently there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it."
Filming was disrupted in 2006 by whistling traced to a fin on the city's new 47-storey Beetham Tower.
