Ryan Thomas has revealed that he is growing back his chest hair to please Coronation Street fans.

The actor, who plays Jason Grimshaw in the ITV1 soap, said bosses want his hairy chest to make a comeback because it is a more popular look with female viewers.

He is quoted as saying: "The fuzz is coming back because I get a lot more fan mail when I don't shave my chest!"

However, he added that pregnant girlfriend Tina O'Brien, who played his on-screen wife Sarah, is not happy with the producers' decision.

He said: "My girlfriend much prefers my chest when it's smooth!"

I'm with Tina on this one, I don't much like chest hair, his isn't too bad though.

Pity I don't watch. Phwooooor! Hairy chests are great. When you're peeved with them you can pull out a handful! ;D

Jason's looks were always his strong point - he's never going to be intellectual or have any really interesting conversations, he's eye candy who has relationships with other with other eye candy. That's his function.

Personally I don't like hairy, I prefer smooth - but since it's unlikely that I'll get close to him I don't suppose my opinion counts!

Smooth can't be used for torture. You run your hands through the hairs, teasing, then pull! It's great therapy.
